exactly what LSU fans heard last year as well. Not saying that means anything, because I believe the AD at LSU made many mistakes.
Just bc LSU mishandled the issue, doesn’t mean Texas A&M would.
LSU likely could’ve had him (I think he’d be a better fit in BR than in CS).
But I agree with you that your AD made a mess of it.

If the power-brokers there set their sights on Fisher when replacing Kevin Sumlin, Seminoles fans should take that threat every bit as seriously as they did much-publicized attempts to snatch Fisher away by LSU over the past two years.
A comparison between the programs proves my point. Below, you’ll find data for both school’s football teams drawn from mandatory NCAA financial disclosures all public schools are required to file for the 2015-16 academic year, the most recent for which numbers are available.
Category School A School B
Ticket sales $17,445,095 $41,710,523
Contributions $15,840,981 $32,806,055
Recruiting budget $655,785 $884,700
Head coach’s salary $7,437,349 $6,304,582
Assistant coaches’ salaries $5,329,311 $4,082,237
Total operating expenses $42,547,101 $29,945,769
Total operating revenues $66,023,711 $99,563,727
Here’s one more data point that should give away the identity of “School A” and “School B” if you hadn’t figured it out: stadium capacity.
School A: 79,560
School B: 102,733
As Fisher continues bellyaching about the level of support he receives from FSU (an annual tradition under Fisher, and one of which FSU supporters have grown tired), you tell me, based on the data above, which school has greater resources – more money – to throw behind a successful football team?
Florida State is “School A.”
Human nature will tell you that with five consecutive double-digit win seasons, a national championship in 2013 and a College Football Playoff appearance in 2014, FSU’s desperation for success and willingness to provide Fisher the blank check he demands pales in comparison to that of the Aggies, who’ve won 10 games just once since 1999.
In fact, if you’re looking for a reason Florida State is a superior job to Texas A&M – I think they’re equals – it is that tradition of greatness.

They cannot stand it. The Aggies told them to frick off and joined 1the SEC. The Aggies are prospering and it is driving the “teasips” absolutely crazy!

Those tips in meth were an unexpected problem.. good news is I have done 11 loads of laundry, shoveled snow from every neighbors drive three blocks each side of me & most importantly answered some fan mail from 1991.

Gonna have to upgrade you from latent to full blown homo.. the cock related references are beyond telling at this point.
Good news, I picked up Leif Garrett’s first house on the foreclosure market for a bargain. For kicks I respond to some fan mail that was left at the property.
I think there are still some autographed 8x10’s I could send you.. right up ur alley.

Maybe he left behind some heroin for you?

Pretty sure Corey Feldman made off with that.

At least he is persistent.

Amusing how obsessive the short whorns are about a nonrival that they do not play. Don't they have a big 12 site somewhere they can troll? They are acting dumber than Bielema at a press conference after a bad win

Fisher would be retarded wanting to face Bammer, AU, LSU every year when all he has at FSU is Clemson and Louisville to deal with.
Is the draw of the SEC really that big of a deal for coaches?

Just curious, how exactly did Alleva and the LSU folks mess this up last year? I've heard a lot that Jimbo was close to making the move but something happened/the situation was mishandled. Does anyone have specifics? Was it because they were also talking to Herman and Jimbo wanted to be the only candidate?

Man, those pages of horns and sooners nonsense were intolerable. I'm happy to deal with our barners, hogs, agtards, ole piss, moo state, and the real UT.

LSU folks are far more suited to answer this question than am I.
The fact that they pursued him twice—in b2b seasons—only to misfire both times, was problematic. Wasn’t Fisher ready to close the deal w LSU in 2015, only to have the university decide at the last minute to keep Les?
Also, it was rumored that in the final hours, the stigma of Fisher being associated with sexual misconduct (proven or not) was enough to keep the LSU PsTB from making a serious effort to hire him. If true, it’s tough to blame ‘em, given what was happening at Baylor at that time. But if that was genuinely their thinking, they shouldn’t have pursued him at all.
Regardless of the reason for 2015’s misfire, the bad taste likely remained in Fisher’s mouth last year, when LSU pursued him again.
Seems like their offer in 2016 wasn’t that much better than what he was already earning at FSU? Also, they gave him a ridiculously short timeline/ultimatum to make a decision (they felt they had Herman and/or Orgeron as sure-thing back-up plans); he told ‘em to pound sand.
The two parties just haven’t been able to make it work.
Tigers, correct me where I’m wrong.

LSU didn't have the money to make it work. They're unwilling to truly compete with Bama & Saban.

Frrom the little I know sounds about right. ultimately it was about money. LSU didn’t or couldn’t offer him enough to reel him in.

I'm not sure what exactly went down between LSU and Fisher last season but I'm willing to bet it had something to do with Alleva. LSU definitely had the money.
I'm not buying Fisher to A&M at all. I don't see him leaving FSU just yet.

And when has A&M competed to win a national championship in the last 75 years?
I have watched LSU win 2 national championships and play for 3 in the last 15 years.
