Is this legit? Dmn, after a 41 point win? Wow, that would sting a bit if true.

With recruits jumping ship, they're probably trying to stabilize the program and will hire someone close to the current team.

The kind of kids they’ve been recruiting weren’t convinced to go there because ‘stability’, which is part of their historical problem

to be fair, the way things are going, that’s not really a bad bet…

It's like Christmas this morning!

I wonder if Fisher knew last night and that was Petrino running the offense

I get it, but I don’t get the timing at all. Who are A&M expecting to be able to land at HC?

Odd that they did it after their best game of the season

Figured they’d wait until after Jayden Daniels ran them out of a Tiger Stadium

Yes.
I wish I sucked that badly at my job.
He became a very wealthy man doing so.

Onward.

What a ridiculously bad contract for A&M.
Jimbo has recruited well.
I would simply wait out the contract and make Jimbo give the offensive reigns to Petrino.
And hire a good DC.
I mean winning a few more football games isn't worth that kind of money and there's definitely no guarantee that they will more with the next coach. sheesh

You'd lose half that good recruiting class to the portal next year and go 7-5 again. Then more recruits would leave, less would come.

In the NIL world, A&M sits high up there. If we are willing to part ways with a head coach on a 76 million dollar tab. 5-10 million extra is a drop in the bucket to ensure some stability to keep our marquee players.

I could be wrong and we lose a lot, or a few. Will see.

I have a feeling they’re going to go after Dan Lanning and I doubt he would bomb.

If A&M wanted to go after a top Pac 12 coach, why not go after Kalen DeBoer instead? Oregon’s one of those self-sustaining programs at this point. Three of their previous coaches, Chip Kelly, Willie Taggart, and Mario Cristobal all did well at Oregon and then haven’t done too hot after leaving to coach elsewhere. DeBoer took over a Washington team in disarray and turned them into a top 10 team instantly.
