Really so pushing a GA is commonplace now?

No, they aren't. One of my good buddies is a GA, and another a basketball team manager (wants to get into coaching)... They are at equal levels at the bottom of the totem pole. They don't get treated like coaches anymore than a group leader on a homework assignment is a teacher...

My cousins is a GA at Tulsa... she was a player on the team the year prior. She is still a student. Not really the same as pushing a coach, imo.

And Johnny Football gets paid waaaaay more than a grad student. I'd be pissed too if someone that far below my pay grade was barking at me.

I didn't say that, but you'd be surprised at how much shite goes down unbeknownst to the general fanbase in practices/scrimmages. There's a reason most coaches balk at "all-access" type coverage of their programs.

And Aggies aren't condoning it, just recognizing that it happens all the time and is a non-issue just like it is everywhere else. You're pretty dense not to pick up on that. My reaction to this is the same as when I hear about practice/scrimmage scuffles around the country.

Players shoving GAs doesn't happen at LSU, I'm not aware that this is common at other schools but maybe someone can enlighten me.

I heard that the last time a smart assed Qb shoved a ga at LSU he was beaten to death with a sock monkey.

Doesn't matter if it is a paid coach or a GA. It shows a lack of respect for the team leaders. It doesn't matter if it's a GA or the fricking janitor he should learn to control his emotions better than that.

Dude puts his hands on me like that and you better believe he'd be pulling that Heisman up out of his arse.

I was going to enter this conversation but since it is turning violent, I'll return to the Chess board.

I know some here are having fun with this, but others seem to be serious and really need to get a grip. From the Chronicle author's tweets:

quote:

Manziel story was quickly taking inaccurate life of its own ('hit' a coach etc). I wrote it as it unfolded before me - he shoved a Giddy GA

quote:

Just a 'heat of moment' thing in sports. I addressed it because rumors were spreading JM had 'hit' a coach or something. Bull.

quote:

An exuberant GA celebrated a Manziel INT a bit much - right in front of the QB - during 2day's scrimmage. So Manziel shoved him.
