Saban has never lost to Tennerrrsseee while at Bama. He just might retire undefeated against the Vols.

Remember when uga and LSU both lost to Zook Florida in back to back seasons but only one got a national title shot? It was a long time ago, even though it was after the vols most recent top 10 season.

That would've been an awesome BCS controversy: Miami vs... OSU or UGA?

Why should UGA have gotten a title shot in 2003 ...or any other year when Zook was coach?

Uga 2002 and LSU 2003 both had the same 12-1 record after the sec championship.

How many teams were undefeated in 2002 and how many in 2003?

Are you saying the Vols didn't get lucky in '98 when the Clint Stoener laid the ball down?

How bout LSU in '07 when they leap frogged
4 teams in week 13 when they had lost to unranked Arkansas just 2 weeks earlier?

Of course it takes luck and breaks sometimes to win a NC especially in the pre CFB playoff days.

If the official makes the correct call on the block FG in the NC game or Fromm doesn't throw a ball into someone's helmet ,UGA wins a NC in '17.

You just stumbled across the my point. Luck determined how many teams were undefeated in each season.

how was it luck or bad luck? Each season is independent of one another. UGA wasn't unlucky they didn't make the national title game in 2002. They weren't one of the top 2 teams in the country that year.

You're lucky if you need teams in front of you to lose and that happens. Like LSU in 2003 and 2007, Florida in 2006 and 2008, all those Bama teams, etc

How is it not good or bad luck? What else is it besides luck? We both had the same exact season, yet only one got the opportunity to play for a national title.
