I saw it. I'm not going to commend you for something that should be common sense. Would basically just be me thanking you for just being a decent human being.

Maybe a judge mandated Simmons go to Starkville as his punishment.

Possible. Hell....Starkville did vote McDonald's as the best burger in town.

Would you be saying the same shite if Simmons went to Ole Miss?

I'm not a big fan of him being on the team, but if he has a zero tolerance policy from here on out, then it could be a chance to keep him from becoming something bad -- particularly based on counseling etc. He has at least a chance of getting help and being reformed.

As others have noted, when the Justin Cox stuff happened late in the season, he was kicked off immediately, so Mullen has already shown he's willing to discipline kids.

Ole Miss doesn't need my help looking bad, ya'll do fine at that as it is

Keep deflecting and melting though!

Someone said you were a journalist. They all know that a possessive precedes a gerund. I would go with "my thinking".

People say a lot of shite...doesn't mean it's true.

Let's quit being so PC and be honest. Like Marcus Spears said on Finebaum today, in alot of cultures/demographics/regions that type behavior is the norm. It usually happens every time a group gets together and starts drinking, smoking and trying to get some tail. Since most of the "Ranters" are not from this culture, we find it appalling. Why do you think there were no charges? They were probably asking themselves-"What's the Big Deal". That being said, let's just move on because there is nothing to see here.

I had a pretty civil reply/conversational input that I came close to posting until I saw this...

So you're saying that it's ok for him to beat a woman because he grew up poor and black?

Mullen is the biggest piece of shite SEC coach since Urban Meyer.

But Ole Miss had a player crash on a coach's couch for a couple of nights.....

...figured I would go ahead and get that out of the way.

I don't make the rules-Society does. You either live by the rules or get hammered by a 5 star player or the NCAA in your case.

no...You're right...you absolutely don't make the rules. But Mississippi State makes the rules for people who represent the university and its standards.

Now see Reb, you hang around a few State fans on the Rant and you start to see things more clearly. Coach Dan thinks that if neither party wants to press charges and the cops don't want to pursue it why should he destroy a kids life. As a matter of fact, I'm pissed that he gave in to pressure and gave him a 1 game suspension!!!

I'll tell you why. Anyone who watched the uncut video (not the one some media chopped up) clearly see Simmons and another guy try breaking it up. They even escorted the girl to her car asking her to leave because she has been a trouble maker in the past.

Secondly, she got back out of her car and attacked his sister. Simmons didn't exactly throw heavy punches or knock her down / out. He lost his temper for 2 seconds, go time it. And those were not heavy blows, they were 3 inches from her which is why she didn't look like someone who got the shite beat out of her. He was wrong, no denying this but it's not like he had a criminal background. Had he honestly just beat the hell out of her I'd be the first to say he has to go even if it were defending a family member.

How do you not understand the way our government works? We have a criminal justice system. It's job is to, get this, serve justice to criminals.

People saying he shouldn't be in school are blinded by subjectiveness or just plain ignorant.
