Can someone please tell me how he is wrong? It's not like he's complaining about having a playoff as he followed up his statement by saying that college football should choose a system and stick with it. Either do away with the bowls and have just a playoff, or do away with the playoff and leave the bowl system intact.

Long offers just about the mildest form of criticism possible to Saban and yet all the Tahd fans are reacting like he pimp slapped the little gimp and then had his way with him.
You can still be a great coach and be mistaken about something guys. I know y'all think the sun rises in the morning and sets at night on the Mighty Munchkin's command, but he's just a football coach. As others have pointed out, he stinks on ice as a business man and Long knows the business side of sports a lot better then Saban.
Take it easy before y'all start running around shooting each other and poisoning shrubs.

To be fair, Saban had a hard time getting his team up to play tOSU since it wasn't the national championship game and all.

Seems the only coaches worthy of having an opinion in the SEC are Saban and maybe Spurrier. The other coaches apparently are either too stupid to form any or no one really cares what they think.

You realize that everything you just listed are playoffs. That is what he is saying. Have one way to determine a champion.

Good point. Has the REC sent our check yet? We need to be proactive - last year it seemed like we were losing our grip on the referees, and this year the schedule looks too damn tough.

Why the hell do we not see comments from other coaches on the same subject? What the hell does Miles/Helfrich/Stoops/Golden/Swinney/Briles/Malzhan/Richt, etc. have to say about the bowls/playoffs?

This IS not about the lower level bowl games. This would have been about a Bama vs. Oregon matchup without having to play OSU.
The 4 team playoff made it harder on Saban and Bama to win MNC as it give us a truer champion. OSU deserved to win the title.

We wanted the playoff, why should we worry? I don't see our coach worrying about playoffs, spread offenses, etc. Auburn 2004 is the poster child for teams getting screwed under the old BcS system.
