This tells you one thing. Texas has no problem over-paying for a coordinator who worked for Saban.

So far this has not worked out for anyone. There's only one Nick Saban. Sorry guys.

all these programs want to run it like Saban but almost none of the boosters writing 7 figure checks to these programs want to give a coach Saban level control.

True that's part of it and he may get a guy Texas would not have otherwise gotten. If Saban finds this is a problem though, he will fix it and will be done in a way that Banks can do anything about it.

This proves there needs to be a salary cap for coaches.

I hear Georgia has a young promising special teams coordinator we could steal.

Might not be overpaying if he can recruit well and manage 32% of any given game’s plays, well.

This is HRV-level of self deprecation that we can appreciate. And I’m being honest; I liked this one.

If UT flips the QB, Evers, back from OSU, he will be worth every penny.

He's the 3rd best recruiter in the country this year but the 2 above him are on Alabama's staff. He's a good special teams coordinator but frankly I think that is a replaceable level skill set. I've never really known a bad special teams coordinator. About the only time you notice special teams is when the specialists are bad but special teams coordinators often don't have the foggiest clue on how to coach kickers and punters. Special teams and TE is usually the cubbyhole for your least gifted on-field coach who can recruit.

1m is a lot of money for a special teams coordinator but Sark decided he needed to lock down at least one elite recruiter and Texas was willing to pay the price.

I'm assuming with Sark calling offense that the OC budget isn't nearly as high as normal. If that $1m starts to lockdown the offensive talent in Texas then he'll be worth every penny they pay for him.
