Chaney was far more proven than Coley is. He was what our OCs are now at UF, which isn't a true OC because Mullen is the offensive caller and designs most plays. He did okay at FAU. Miami he helped end a coaches career not doing his job well enough, then was moved back to position coach.
Generally good coaches project upwards. Coley is an insanely good recruiter no doubt. Doesn't mean he is a good OC. His last job doesn't point to him being one.

Far more proven at what? You seem to be forgetting what Chaney was before uga. Chaney was underwhelming when we hired him in 2016. Wasn’t good enough for the vols, and Arkansas of all schools pushed him out.
Coley’s offenses at Miami were better than richts offenses from 15-18, so maybe Miami is just a bad spot, just as Tennessee, Arkansas, and Pitt were for Chaney.

Coley is unproven. He has some of the best talent in the country to scheme for. We'll see what he can do.
We know who UF is. We know they're worse than UGA. We know they have less talent and less depth. We know your superior coaching didn't keep you from getting skill f*cked by Missouri and Kentucky. Odd that your ascendance doesn't include a top 10 recruiting class. How does that work because I can't remember one consistent national caliber team that didn't have top classes.
Anyway, thanks for the insight.
Good luck completing for #2 in the east for years.

Going into year four, Kirby's QB room is the worst it's ever been. 5* Eason - Transfer 5* Fields - Transfer Current QB Room: Fromm (2 years of experience) Bennett (Walk-on unranked QB, zero D1 Experience) Mathis (Zero experience, TR FR) Plumlee (Zero experience, TR FR) This is where most teams will live and die, and if anything happens to Fromm you guys will perish.
So if the starter gets hurt, we could struggle?! Said about almost every team.
Qb room Is better than it was in 2016 and it’s deeper than it was in 2018. A strong supporting cast tends to help a lot. Not many teams would be able to take advantage of no qbs at uga, even though the guys are probably more capable than you would ever admit.

quote:Coley was the best move for continuity. There will be little to no drop off on the offensive side of the ball due to the familiarity between the players, staff, and playbook. Also, anything can be accomplished with the odds on favorite for the Joe Moore Award for the best OL in the nation. OCs tend to look much smarter with an OL that can execute.
So you claim Coley was the best move..yet seems Georgia fans admit you struck out twice first before deciding to promote Coley. Seems he was a third option. He should be. His track record being a play caller is sub par.
quote:Doubtful. Wish for it all you want, but a lack of depth and a lack of recruiting (OL recruiting in 2015, 16, and 17 was disastrous) is going to show up big time in this unit next year. No amount of coaching is going to be able to overcome the lack of players.
As for UF. Our line was bad this year to start and improved. It improved with coaching. It was considered a weakness preseason and by the end of the year was a strength. Expect the same next year.
quote:Nope. UF will lose the battles at the LOS and will regress this upcoming year.
Florida will be better next year. Very little doubt in my mind. We will challenge Georgia.

He's good enough for the vols now.

Vols have regressed since his first stint? Is that even possible?
