Maybe so , but that doesn't really give the NCAA to make money the kids name either.

Those kids have a choice. Nobody forces them to be part of the system.

Are you saying black kids can only make money by playing football?

If so, can we call you racist?

Not at all, but it's where some of them can make the most money. The current NCAA rules cost players millions every year.

I am making that argument. Many of these kids have no business in college and wouldn't be there if not for being faster, bigger and stronger than most of their peers.

Institutions of higher learning first.

Meh, a boom of student loans have created a bubble in higher education. Today's BA is 1970's high school degree. It isn't special anymore.

Once again, nobody forces them to go that way, is it really that hard to understand?

I don't think this a black white thing, does anyone not think that Mccaffery deserves plenty after his year.

Listen , I have no problem with a kid getting a summer job, get paid for working camps , promoting himself and making some money on the side , or selling anything that's his.

But the school does not owe him one dime more than what he's getting, not to mention the money is just not there to pay everyone , which you would have to do.

So most black kids should compete for what, like 2000 positions worldwide as a professional athlete? That is their best chance? Oh my

I agree and some like Bernie will finish that and move it to a master's degree.

As a taxpayer, I'm more of a slave than he is. I bust my arse so that others may profit, have no choice in the matter, and risk dire consequences should I disobey the master and not tithe. frick him. If he ever gets a big payday, he'll really find out who's getting fricked.

I mean do we have fricked up priorities as a society? Yes.

I don't think athletes having to wait to get paid is part of that though.

They don't have to wait though. They choose to wait.

I've never said the schools should pay them more.

Where did I say most? I said some. And it's painfully obvious that some of these guys will only make millions by playing football.

NCAA the right to make money off the kids name

They no longer do.

EA college fb no longer exist and they stopped selling
player jerseys.

Now the schools certainly make money off player jerseys and merchandising.

Well that is true , I guess. I sort of lump the schools and NCAA together on who's making money.

I just don't think either has the right to stop the student from making money outside of school.

And I know it's a precarious rabbit hole

As long as you are in their system, you have to obey their rules, if you don't like it, you can get out and try to make it on your own.

No doubt and not sure of the answer.I certainly think
the kids should make money off merchandising but once you have them signing that stuff for cash it's gonna create all sorts of abuses.

I mean it's a very fine line. But why should a school get to promote a kids name and make money off him. It's one thing the kid makes the school money out of performance, by winning, by getting awards. I just think if your gonna use his/her likeness then something needs to happen. We all have a right to our personal image. Maybe they should put a percentage of the income of these items into an account , that is paid at time of the kid leaving.
