Ironically, there are very good rails in place for the NFL. That’s why it’s become so wildly successful & they can afford to pay franchise QB’s these massive contracts. College football is the sport that’s flying off into the abyss. It’s maimed and unrecognizable at this point.

Fair point honestly, I should have just said sports.

Bama molded him,

Bama wisely recruited a high character guy who had already been molded by his coach/father at Channelview High.

My main point was last fall as he did better and better a huge contingent of Bama fans came out of closet to claim him as “their” qb. Before that it was mostly crickets. All the sudden Hurts does great only then did they lay this claim.

Pretty much every Bama fan has been happy for Hurts from his transfer to a legitimate program at OU to getting drafted to Philly, to his ascension to starter and eventually flourishing.

Its all trivial but when Bama benched Hurts he never played another down for them

Do you even watch CFB? Hurts won the SECCG against UGA coming off the bench the next season.

but highest paid? I don't know about all that.

It’s the way the market is going. And he’s the prototype of what the modern NFL is looking for. His leadership, character, football IQ & running are off the charts.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm not an industry expert and I don't know how these deals are negotiated, but I don't know how you justify paying him $6 million more than Mahomes. I wouldn't make Burrow the highest paid either.

I agree the Eagles had a stacked up roster.

And the NFC was absurdly weak. The second best team lost their top 2 QB's and were playing Mr. Irrelevant (who also got hurt when they played the Eagles); Tom finally showed his age; Rodgers the same and Dak is Dak and the Cowboys GM is Jerrah; and no matter how many games the Vikings win in the regular season, they have to win playoff games with Kirk Cousins. Now with the Eagles having lost quite a few players and now having to pay top dollar for a QB, we'll see if they can stay there. The cap flexibility they had is now gone.

Come along way since getting benched in 2018.

You’re right about that! There’s something about redemption in sports that I love.

Congrats to Jalen who is a stand up guy, and also congrats to Alabama, y’all put him on the map.

Guy is hard not to root for. Always smiling and gives great, high football IQ interviews. Glad he secured his bag! He’s a great example of never giving up.

I’m excited to watch Philly the next couple years with him at the helm!

Good for Jalen but what an idiotic contract for the Eagles

As a cowboys fan I’m happy for them to tie up that much money.

And Hurts seems like a great guy.

for poor man’s Lamar Jackson

Lamar Jackson is officially a poor man’s Jalen Hurts (with far less upside.)

Chase Jefferson and Tyreek 1-3, then AJ. Diggs and Kupp are great but also in perfect situations, Hopkins and Brown are close if not interchangeable
