Local school officials shut down Jake Fromm's recent attempt at an unsanctioned workout ahead of the NFL Draft in Warner Robins, Georgia, after the former Georgia quarterback got into a locked McConnell-Talbert Stadium, according to DawgNation. Fromm, like several other players after the NFL recently barred teams from meeting with prospects due to the coronavirus, was preparing for an upcoming taped Pro Day for scouts when the school district superintendent reportedly noticed the quarterback and others on the field.

“On Tuesday, I drove by McConnell-Talbert Stadium, and noticed a truck backed up to the fence, with the tailgate down,” Houston County superintendent Dr. Mark Scott told DawgNation in a written statement on Sunday. “It looked as if someone had jumped the fence and then dragged a table to the fence so others could more easily get into the stadium.”

Like many school districts across the country, Georgia governor Brian Kemp has ordered the closing of all schools statewide through the end of the month, so the gate at McConnell-Talbert Stadium was locked. Fromm reportedly finished his workout in a different county.

quote:

"Our district has procedures in place for anyone who wants to use our facilities,” Scott’s statement to DawgNation read. “This information was previously communicated to Jake. All of this could have been avoided had a facilities request been completed.

“If Jake needs the stadium in the future, we again invite him to complete a facilities request. We are proud of all of our graduates, to include Jake and many other exceptional young people. I wish him much success.”

CBS Sports ranks Fromm as the seventh-best quarterback available in a rich class at the position. Georgia's Pro Day was wiped away last month due to the growing pandemic.

ESPN NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. and Todd McShay have both questioned Fromm's NFL future despite a stellar career in the SEC after he led the Bulldogs to three consecutive SEC East titles.

quote:

"You know I love Jake Fromm as much as anyone in the country, as much as any scout out there," McShay said earlier this month. "But there are some people at Georgia who are like, 'Listen, we love him. He was so amazing. What he did, you can't deny it.' But there are some people who are like, 'Eh, we're looking forward to getting a little bit more of a physical talent to work with (in Wake Forest graduate transfer quarterback Jamie Newman).'"

One play from a nattie as a freshman vs can't read progressions. I think he made the right choice.

I'm still waiting for viable names to submit to the networks to give the game
It's own place in the recent history of space and time.

Come on! Use that noggin for something
meaningful!

Better than JaMarcus Russell breaking into a Popeye's, JFF a dispensary or Tebow crashing the Vatican I suppose.
