Was this due to lack of interest?

That would be concerning if the SECT was altered, even if it only affected fan attendance. I'm sure Nashville needs the income that this event generates, especially right now.

Auto-bid to the regular season champion?

I have doubts it'll be SEC even though Vandy cancelled classes.

Soft. If they want to prevent the spread of the virus just tell all the dirty hippies on their campuses to shower and wash their hands more

Never understood why the tourney champ deserved the auto bid to begin with.
Do away with conference tourneys and for those teams that don't make the field have a separate tourney for all those teams.

Everybody likes the underdog, especially in the NCAAT. In reality, much like if there were more teams in the CFP, there are only a very small amount of those underdogs that will ever actually be able to succeed past the initial rounds and compete for the championship.

I couldn't agree more. It doesn't really matter for the SEC and other major conferences since the regular season champ is all but locked in before the tournament, but for single-bid conferences like the Ivy League, doesn't it make sense to send your best team and not a 14-14 team that got hot for a few games?

I know there's a lot of money to be made by conference tournaments, but again, that's mainly for the major conferences. The Ivy League doesn't make much from their tournament.

NCAAT will most likely be affected in at least some minor fashion.
SECT is fine due to timing and lack of cases in the region.

If an athlete tests positive, then I have no idea what will happen. We might seriously see the NCAAT postponed. I don’t think that is likely right now but this thing is spreading by the day.

So you're saying Alabama picked a good year to suck again?

A fantastic year. Maybe if a team can’t make it, y’all will get called up.

1 to make the tourney more compelling and give the players something to really fight for

2 to justify a bid thief (which could and usually does enable a conference to get more teams into the tournament)

3 give teams in leagues with imbalanced schedules (most leagues) a second chance to overcome it.
