He and his wife both played at Georgia. Momma already called him home.

Mercy, you're not taking this well. At all.

Bless your heart.

Serious question why would Smart leave UGA for Bama? Bama is who they are because of Saban. Literally no other reason. Your town, your women, your music, your location, your climate, your art scene, your academics, your campus are all inferior to UGA. Unless you think Alabama could outbid UGA, I see no reason smart would leave

Saban doesn’t even need to be mentioned anymore — he’s in a whole other category by himself that even putting him on any list with other SEC coaches is beneath him.

He's also 70. It's possible that Kirby, by the time he's 70, could have even more NC's than Nick. I sure hope so, anyway.

Yeah okay....

Athens versus Tuscaloosa, no contest

Alma mater UGA

Born in GA

Family lives in GA

Definitely not leaving UGA unless he feels under appreciated, (and under paid), unless he's decides to try his hands in the NFL (,which I doubt he would)

It’s definitely possible. Kirby has shown he can sustain a program at a high level which is harder than getting one there.

And if he ever leaves UGA, he’ll have set the program up for success for the next coach rather than FSUing it like another…

Kirby is never leaving Georgia. It’s his alma mater. He’s even more of a legend now. He will coach 20 more years there. They’ll pay him whatever it takes.

Let’s see how Brian Kelly does before you start thinking he will surpass Kirby…

And he's only 46. That's the best part.

And hes mostly a recruiter so he should be safe from the eyes of the NFL

Fisher is an overpaid and overrated buffoon of a snake oil salesman.

Actually, Kirby was born in Alabama and moved to Ga. when he was 6 years old.

Yes, my bad, but I would imagine he considers Bainbridge his hometown.

The contract extensions for Mel Tucker, Sam Pittman and the rest of his clients were mere appetizers. Kirby getting us the NC will be the main course. Jimmy Sexton is about to orchestrate a master class in sports agency that will be talked about for decades.

Kirby owes whoever paid for all the talent on the field.
Congrats to him for being picked to lead it.

Does the NCG count as a bowl game?

I always thought the bowl games were the semifinals and the NCG wasn't technically a bowl game.

If so, Kirby is 5-1 in bowl games.

He is a former UGA player and Alum. To steal a Bear Bryantism he is coaching for "Mama." Plus he won a Natty for Georgia so he pretty much has a blank check at UGA if you will. Unless he absolutely tanks, and we all know he won't, he is here until he retires. Like CNS carved out his legacy at Bama, he is doing the same thing here.

And I don't care how well-stocked you guys say CNS will leave Bama for the next guy. History repeats itself often and that guy may very well become the second coming of Ray Perkins. No way he'd want to do that. I don't envy the man that has to step into those shoes. No thanks.
