Where do you get these numbers from?
I've seen NIL valuations, but nothing that actually lists the NIL deals for players. Valuations are what some website thinks players would be worth on the NIL market, not what they're actually getting.
I've never actually read a story about UGA offering a recruit or transfer a million dollar NIL deal. I've seen stories talking about our existing starting QB's getting that much, but they're not being paid that to come to UGA, they're being paid that after they proved their worth at UGA.
I know we're not offering nothing to recruits and players, but even combined with existing players 20 million seems a bit high. I admit I could be wrong... I'd just like to see the numbers.

The more talented team won't always win. But those without ENOUGH talent have no chance to win the 3-4 games in a row they'd need to win a championship.
In the end... it is all about the talent.
One team I know is that LSU didn't make the playoffs.. BK is the problem and him having a talented roster didn't get it done against some teams that have lesser talented roster.

What exactly is a blue chip player these days??
Defined as a 4* or 5* recruit?

Where did Michigan rank with their "blue chip" ratio
last year? And which team had the most players drafted? Pretty sure they weren't top 10 and barely over 50% and had the most players drafted.
I mean it's all pretty easy to talk about ratios after the fact but many blue chip ratios can be incredibly deceiving in many cases. UGA had the 6th best ratio in
'16 (Kirby's 1st year) and was far from the 6th best team and exactly one player drafted (a KR in the 6th round)
I'll take returning experience plus players drafted over blue chip ratio almost every time.

They're nothing more than "evaluations" and have nothing to do with reality.

Some people might be surprised by that one... but while Tennessee rides
Tennessee’s roster is almost recovered from the Kiffin to Pruitt years.

Good posts all around. It really comes down to talent.

Good post...
With all the talk about schedule strength, I’d add that there's a difference between "mediocre" opponents being Florida, Auburn and Oklahoma (or Michigan or USC for that matter) in down years compared to Syracuse, Louisville and Duke due to those blue chip talent ratios.

It has a lot to do with talent but coaching is also a factor. See Fisher at A&m.

Need to look at starters with that also. Maybe their isn't many examples but a team with starters 50% + could still compete if they had a good eye in recruiting despite being below 50% overall. TN just sh*t the bed and didn't belong regardless of starter rankings.

You are talking about Heupel here. Didn't LSU lose to Sun Belt Billy and the Gators?
