You are probably correct. The Big 10 is apparently letting anyone that wants to join sit at the table. But here is the Southeast according to the U.S. government and what they teach in school.
There may be a question where West Virginia belongs. But there is no question where Texas belongs.

I agree. Wish we could go back in time.

Texas is direct cause of all the problems in the SWC & what's left of the BIGXII. We dealt with them in good faith, and crapped on every body back then. Greedy disingenuous pricks..you will find out.
We & aTm we're thrilled to be offered and we jumped on it. We do offer solid TV markets..and decent recruiting grounds..our other sports haven't caught up or recovered from the protests of 2015 til now...but that's another story..
I fear , you will see a day in the not so distant future where you will regret admitting texa$$...
Yep. Enjoy the SEC for a few more years because Texas will destroy it. So many here don't have any idea what they have let in with those bastards. A&M plays well with others, Texas does not. They see no one as their equal and they don't play fair, ever. Many here just can't comprehend the power they have unless you have been in a Conference with them. It's not just the $45 Billion Endowment it's the fact they have a relationship with ESPN that no one else has.
OU cut their deal with Texas long ago, they are content to be their bitch and do whatever the boss tells them. A&M is the only school with the money ($20 Billion Endowment) and political power (they have to deal with us in Texas) to keep them in check. Some of you are going to learn just how hard they play soon enough.

As usual, zero specific examples. Just pussy-grabbing about the big bad Texas boogeyman under every Aggie's bed.

Do you think bowl games will even be around in 5-10 years?

That obviously didn't mean losing to them in the Red River thing. For the record, Since 2009, Oklahoma 11 Shorthorns 4.
Big 12 football championships: Oklahoma 15 Shorthorns 4
Are you sure Oklahoma got the Big 12 message?

Having won on the field, OU doesn't have to fabricate an elaborate story of a Texas with unlimited power hell bent on destroying everything in its path.
That kind of copium is reserved only for the bitchmade schools who've found themselves on the short side of the stick vs. Texas.

Don't be such a pv$$y. You remind me of a kid that claims everyone bullies him when he doesn't get his way.

As I recall, Missouri was the first team to lift their skirt up to the Big Ten. Then Nebraska stepped in and took their bid. So Missouri to save face, went to the SEC with A&M. If there is anybody that Missouri should be bitching about it is the B1G.

100%. Missouri fans blaming Texas for destroying the Big 12 when they and Nebraska opened pandora's box is pure, uncut projection.

for sports the B1G is boring as frick.
It really is. Those Minnesota, Purdue, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, Maryland, Minnesota shite games are a fricking snooze fest. I’ve been to Columbus and East Lansing for some big games (Ohio State-Penn State, Michigan State-ND) and even those were weak in comparison. Their atmospheres suck, their tailgating really sucks, the people are ugly, the food is shite …. Just all around a lame arse environment for lame arse people.

Put one or two kids on a playground who are twice the size as everyone else and bullying behavior is all but inevitable. Add them to a playground with 6 or 7 kids just as big as them and the playground stays fairly peaceful.
The SWC couldn’t exist without Texas. That gave them power and leverage. The Big 8 was a rural conference that desperately needed Texas tv sets to save them. Same situation…power and leverage. The SEC can benefit from Texas but our survival isn’t dependent on them. And Texas benefits a lot more by joining us than any other conference. It’s the first balanced power conference Texas has ever been in.

This is SO much bigger than who wins football games, especially short term. This is about money, control, and politics. You will learn soon enough.

lol. Texas has a $45 Billion Endowment. Outside of A&M the rest of the SEC has about $25 Billion combined. No one has power within the media like they do. They have massive influence in the Academic and Research world and within the AAU. You simply don't understand how this works. You don't control a school like Texas and they don't consider anyone their equal. They don't play fair. A&M will also likely cut their own deal with Texas because they need us both from an internal politics perspective and we have a large enough power base to threaten them.
The SEC has never dealt with anything like them. You think Alabama is a real power. I am old enough to remember how Nebraska thought they were Texas' equal and thought they would rule the Big 12. I remember when Texas used the enforcement office of the NCAA to destroy the SWC when other schools started playing by their rules.
Personally I think this is about the Super Conferences and the new order it will bring and with it the end of the SEC as we know it.

I keep reading over and over the sentiment that Texas and aTm don’t belong here. Well, in the real world, this is what happens if we did not add them:
Texas and aTm, both AAU schools, join the Big Ten. Oklahoma, wanting to remain with Texas and reunite with Nebraska, gets a Big Ten invite on the condition that they make progress toward AAU membership. The revenue gap between SEC and B10 becomes substantial, 20 million or more per school. Florida, an AAU member, then joins the B10. Revenue gets even more imbalanced. UNC goes B10. In a worst case scenario, UGA, who badly wants AAU membership, potentially goes B10 in pursuit of that.
Revenue gaps are how conferences get destroyed. It’s how America and democracy won the Cold War.
We had to take Texas and aTm to keep up, and we should be glad to have them.
Then why aren't Tulane and Georgia Tech not being mentioned to join the SEC?
