He wasn't told he would sit. He was told he'd get to compete for the starting job. He and his father both watched Fromm lead UGA to the the playoff and they still held firm. He was complaining that they didn't let him throw the ball in a game where we had already put it away and the opposing HC was a personal friend of Smart's. A guy who had helped him along in his career and they were freaking teammates for one year in college. Kirby was not gonna throw the football all over the field at that point. I do wish we would have let him air it out more in other games without that kind of relationship between the coaches. But he wasn't promised anything but that he could compete to win the job. Same way Fromm was promised the year before.

Justin had about 20 high school starts, Jake had well over 40. Justin did not have the same kind of coaching Jake got. Jake was as prepared as any HS QB could be upon entering college. Justin was not. Fields has an incredibly high ceiling. But he's got a long way to get there.

Factually, you are wrong there. Pac Man was invented before we won our last national title....barely.

None by the Bammers though. What's wrong with y'all. Needing to win late every time. POS team.

Fields said in an interview that the only promise CKS gave was that the best QB would start.

so the "best qb recruit in the nation" was bogus. It's been apparent since at least mid season that he was over rated.

Have any of the Georgia fans considered that Fields might not actually be a 5* QB? These recruiting rankings aren’t the gospel. They had Marcell Dareus as a 3* and he was in reality a 5*.

Fromm is clearly the better QB. Someone said that Fields is the “pied piper” for a few recruits who are announcing tomorrow so looks like you will lose those as well but losing Fields isn’t that big of a deal considering how many games you have won with Fromm.

This is a possibility. I honestly think he is a very talented QB, and if he leaves I would hate to lose him.

That said, if he can't beat out Fromm, then I am fine with him leaving so he can play. Anybody would do the same thing. Right now, I am happy with Fromm. WE could do a lot worse. My biggest worry right now is if Fields leaves, we will be very thin at QB. The big worry then would be what happens if Fromm gets injured.

Not really. He might have been last year. Some felt like Haselwood was close to Fields, but I am not sure it will affect his choice. Only time will tell, I guess. I don't get the gnashing of teeth by some in our fan base, though.

Didn’t you know.... Kirby promised Fields the starting job, even tho we had a freshman qb lead us to the NC the year before. Seems legit right?

It’s takes more audacity than I can imagine for a fan of Alafrickinbama to create a thread like this. You’ve just defined Bama under Saban.

Christ I hate to be on the side of UGA here, but come on Bama. Didn't mafia Saban invent the art of pulling schollies from "undesirable" players, leaving them high and dry so he could hoard the next recruit? Didn't he define the lowest tactic of grey shirting and oversigning maybe must outside of da Bear? Some could call out Kirby maybe, but you guys are reaching Falwell levels of double standards.

Of course it’s all just trolling at this point. Most likely, Kirby sat with Fields and told him there would be a competition for the QB position. What was going to be the end result? Of course one of them was going to transfer.

Somehow these Alabama fans have Georgia in their brain. Why? You won the SECCG, why should you be concerned about what players at Georgia do or don't do?

Fields obviously has not elevated his game to Fromm's level yet. He might one day or he may never, who knows. Every player recruited and signed is given a chance to compete. That is all that is owed any player when it comes to playing time.

Attention Bama fans: leave these sad dudes alone, our team has done enough damage to these fans, no reason to troll a dead body.
