It Takes 3/4 of the Schools to Vote Yes to Extend Conference Membership Invitations

That would mean 11 schools.
If say, 4 of Georgia, Kentucky, South Carolina, Florida, & Texas A&M decide to not allow an in-state school to be added, then an in-state school won't be added.
All 5 have reason to not want to add Georgia Tech, Lousiville, Clemson, Florida St, & t.u.
It'll be very interesting to see how this plays out. Oh to be a fly on the wall in these behind closed doors meetings.

If this truly is a legitimate possibility and the timeline really is "there will be a yes or no in 2 weeks"......holy shite the secrecy and leak control by everyone involved. Because you know this didn't just start up 3 days ago.
I just can't believe it's true until I see more.

Same. I can buy the inquiry, because the entire sports (and beyond) landscape is shifting and the SEC might look like a safe harbor
But if it is actually close, then it's unprecedented. It's Braves-moving-to-Cobb level.

Mizzou, A&M, and Arky would all vote no. Seems unlikely the rest of the conference would unanimously want them in, so they won't get in.

If the school does not fit, then we must acquit

Forgive us for not wanting to invite evil to the family reunion.

You dumb shits hitting on the Aggies don’t realize Texas will kill the LSU, Georgia, Auburn and Florida football programs. Only Alabama has the boosters willing to write the big checks to pay players. The Texas big money dudes will swamp your programs. You can’t pay the five stars as well as Texas, no matter what.

That would happen regardless whether they’re in the SEC numb nuts

For that to happen the NCAA would have to allow Texas about 200 recruits a season, not 25, dude. As it is, TAMU has been taking what they want out of that state.
