I first learned it when I looked it up probably 10 years ago when I was in an e-argument with you.

No doubt.

It was either you or Coach34.

Or maybe it was both of you.

The 8-5 sounds worse than it really was.

Finished regular season 8-3 (6-2). Lost SECCG to eventual national champ Tennessee after leading in the 4th quarter then lost to Texas in cotton bowl

Don't overlook two of these losses were in blowout fashion to teams that finished with losing records and the all-time weakness of the division as a whole.

You can put as much lipstick on that pig as you want though.

2. LSU is run by a Yankee leprechaun who grinds his dick on 18 year old recruits

Who still managed to win the west in his first year, something state hasn’t done in 25 years. Ouch

It's definitely a year where no one is giving MSU the benefit of the doubt.

However, all they seem to remember is we have a new head coach and offensive coordinator. The reality is we're returning a ton of experienced players on both sides of the ball. Many Seniors and Juniors that have been battle tested in the SEC.

I think going 8-4 this season is our low end estimate. I wouldn't be surprised if LSU falls in week 3 for that 11am kickoff. I'm not expecting us to beat Bama, cause for some reason we just play like crap in that game.

The talent is there for this team to do something special this year though. Just focus on one game at a time.

It's good for them to remember their 8-5 division championship season where Bama, LSU, and Auburn went a combined 14-20 and they were blown out in three games.

If it was so damn easy, how come y'all didn't win it that year?

We were on super double secret probation. So was Bama.

In 98? I know y'all got hit with something when Peyton was being recruited out of HS but that was 4-5 years prior.

Maybe because they are always worlds better than State?

The only chance State ever has to win the West every again is if Bama and LSU are on probation and Auburn is in one of their bottom dwelling seasons.

We were hit with four years' probation at the conclusion of the 1994 season and our scholarships were in 1995 and 1996 (meaning we could only sign 26 players in total for those two classes). You do the math.

That's right, the self-imposed SECW championship ban, I remember now.

Thanks for letting us get one in.

Edit: got my years mixed up, Auburn was garbage in 1998. Probably the least talented Auburn team of my lifetime
