OU has not won a NC (fball) this century. Sooners won the 2000 season which was the last season in the 20th century.

ah, I see. Thank you for the correction.

You, sir, are incredibly embarrassing in your complete and utter lack of knowledge of college football and the English language.

An OU grad insulting a Georgia grad’s grasp of the English language. That is incredibly hilarious.

Ohio St fans, as a group, are a rather uninformed bunch concerning college football. I am convinced a lot of them do not understand the finer rules of the game.

If a penalty or a call on the field goes against them, it is a bad call by the officials, officials don't know the rules, officials were bought off by the opponent. I used to think they complained just to complain but I am now convinced they don't know the rules after reading their complaints.

Also a lot of them are fans of Ohio St but not necessarily fans of college football. I suspect that is the source of their ignorance.

Over the years the news media has been accused of "if it did not happen in New York, it didn't happen." The Ohio St fans are kind of like that when it comes to college football, " if it did not happen at Ohio St or the big ten, it did not happen."

Even with its lack of tournament success lately, the B1G is a superior basketball league to the SEC. This isn't even debatable

Yea I think you’re full of shite. We will find out this year or next when the SEC vs Big10 challenge starts.
UT, UK, Bama, Auburn, and Arkansas are better than anyone in the Big10 most years. And Missouri and Vandy was playing really good ball at the end of the season. UGA will get it turned around with Mike White and UF has the resources to be good.

Last years NCAA Bids:
Big10-8
SEC- 8

Yes, Blue Blood is an undefined term and has as many definitions as there are people trying to define the term.

It is like a group of guys arguing about pretty girls. One girl may be a 10 to one person but to another she looks like she ought to be be working down at the corner of Broad and Main.

What happened before WW II is as relevant as a twenty year old newspaper.

There are some programs trying to hold onto the ghosts of years past, no doubt about that.

And? The field has been infinitely more competitive since the time when UT & SC were racking up much of their numbers. Everyone knows this. Do you also think that Yale is some big football powerhouse??

Well, you see, you can't really be one of the top 2 college baseball programs in history if you want to exclude history. You can be the best college baseball program in the 1990s if it makes you feel better. If you want to say LSU is 1 since 1990, feel free.

But, SC and UT take the top spots all time. Celebrate and take pride in who you are and stop worrying about who you're not. Hell, OU has been punked by the best of the best of CFB in recent years. Sucks to lose, but I'll take being one of the best teams, just not the best, in CFB on a consistent basis.

Agreed and I’d also put out the unpopular opinion that what happened pre-1970 is almost irrelevant.

It should be appreciated but anyone trying to warrant their credibility by going back to when the sport didn’t implement weight lifting, offensive linemen were 160 lbs, and passing was almost non existent needs to frick off.

Blue blood is a worn out jargon term. Oklahoma, Ohio State, and Bama are the only blue bloods still producing great football in the modern day.

This a very sensible post.

But I still believe Nebraska, USC, and a few others are still bluebloods.

We have dominated Michigan this century and you know it. They were due for a little success against us.

Hey Yankee. Go home! Go back to your powder puff league. This is an SEC board. The SEC! Where we play real football.

I stand by what I said. I appreciate and respect history but you can’t tell me it warrants the same value winning in the modern day of football.

Pre-1970; weight lifting hadn’t been implemented, the forward pass was hardly utilized, and offensive lineman were 160 lbs. I’m not going to value football success the same as I would the last 40 years. And I’ll give USC and Nebraska credit as they’ve won championships in the modern era.

I see nothing wrong with your opinion but things will always change. Athletes will get bigger and faster than those of today.

Take notice of the team's fans with the most replies, and the ones with fewer replies....interesting.
