No time has passed since Mullen beat Kirby smart because it’s never happened.

Glory year for UGA. NC and a peanut farmer from Americus in the White House.

Perfectly relevant. If Georgia is that bad because they can’t win a ship, what does that say about Mullen who can’t beat him? Hell, if UGA got to play Mullen and Florida every game they’d be undefeated, winning every game by 2+ scores.

Well yes. We fired our coach midseason after two East titles because Georgia shouldn't be ahead of UF. Mullen has to restore a roster of 50 three stars back to playable level sadly.

We fire people who don't win big.

If Kirby was at Mississippi State and Mullen was at Georgia, Mullen would have backups in by the third quarter.

If Kirby and Mullen swapped Florida and Georgia, it might be somewhere near the same results except we wouldn't even be remotely in the game.

Don't worry, though, Mullen is definitely taking the Clemson model while Georgia continues with the Alabama model without the coaching acumen.

If Kirby was anywhere other than Georgia, he might not even have a winning record. Imagine if he was at MSST, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, etc. etc..

Those are a lot of ifs...

Anywhere other than UGA? I thought UGA was bad as evidenced by this thread?

UGA is an elite school surrounded by talent with an incredible amount of material support.

Kirby is an average x's and o's coach who is leeching off that support.

How different do you think Georgia would be right now if they had hired Dabo Swinney instead of Kirby Smart?

Would anyone stop Dabo? Kirby is as bad of a hire as you could have possibly had because he has the illusion of being an elite coach while clearly not being in the same category as actual elite coaches.

He is literally another Richt with better players and very similar results.

Georgia's biggest curse is that they are an elite program who keeps hiring very mediocre coaches.

The "better players" part of that is why Richt was fired and Kirby was hired. Georgia's always had good talent (especially at the skill positions), but Kirby is bringing in a windfall of talent that we've never had before. These last two teams that Kirby has put out there would maul Richt's best team on the lines of scrimmage.

I'm guessing that his in game coaching will improve over time, like every successful coach's in game coaching does. He's had some blunders like everyone else has. For whatever reason, Kirby's blunders are mentioned a lot more frequently on this site than anyone else's.

Georgia's...an elite program

Ok, just wanted to get this, so now I can stop being pedantic. Kirby’s had more success than most coaches early, but it’s far too early to say he’s great. He’s only had 3 years of experience and the jury is still out. These next few years will decide if he’s a decent coach like Gus or an elite coach. After all, it took Saban and dabo a while before they won the big one. I’d also say Kirby and Gus are more successful than richt since they got to the big one. As far as Mullen goes, he has a lot to prove as well. He did great for state standards. lol also I’d say Georgia’s a very good program historically, not elite.

Because he has top three talent, literally, Georgia is the 3rd most talented team in the goddamn country, man.

How much talent does he need not to have crippling blunders? Horrific losses like LSU where a star-laden defense gives up 275 yards on the ground?

That games like Texas don't happen?

Just look at how no one wants to work for him, either. Offensive Coordinator promoted from within, can't find a Defensive Coordinator and it's almost a week after the Super Bowl.

You'd think coaches would be licking their collective chops for a huge payday to go over there but alas that hasn't happened.

Two five star QB transfers. One Quarterback that has any experience on a D1 football field. Basically, QB1 is good. QB2 is either a true freshman or a walkon.

Kirby's got a silver spoon in his mouth and almost nothing to show for it, and that's why he gets so much shite.

It almost makes me mad that he has that much talent but can't make it work.
