Nick, RIP bro. Know that your boys will be playing hard for you for the rest of this year. Your home now, and will have the best seat in the house to watch your Dawgs play in a bowl game this year
I don't know why, but this is really hard for me to get past. I don't know why some kids have to go so early

Ryan Mallett just told me that he and other players are going to go to Coach Petrino and ask him to get some helmet stickers for all the other football players to wear for the rest of the season in honor of Nick.

We all play around on a message board man. I go to UMC and this kind of thing happens all too often. Sports are just that, sports. This was life, and a young one at that. I can't imagine how his parents are doing . I just pray for their strength to get through this...

Just breaks my heart. Gotta be tough on the family. No parent should ever have to bury their child.
That's really cool for him to do that!

Rip Nick Bell.
it would be cool if everyone in the SEC took and rang cow bells to their games this weekend as a tribute to a man gone to early.

Kudos to Mallet. It would be a classy gesture.

quote:Not really, many people are walking around with cancer and don't know it until it's too late. Gene Upshaw died 3 days after being diagnosed.
this is the fastest case I have ever read about. must have been complications to the surgery performed on the mass......just so damn awful. poor kid.
Gene Upshaw, the Hall of Fame guard who during a quarter century as union head helped get NFL players free agency and the riches that came with it, has died. He was 63.
Upshaw died Wednesday night at his home near California's Lake Tahoe of pancreatic cancer, which was diagnosed only last Sunday, the NFL Players Association said Thursday. His wife, Terri, and sons Eugene Jr., Justin and Daniel were by his side.
Upshaw had not been feeling well for about a week; his wife noticed his breathing had become somewhat labored, sources told ESPN's Chris Mortensen. She convinced her husband to go to the emergency room Sunday, and it was then that he received a cancer diagnosis.Cancer sucks...

Thank you to TigerDroppings and the entire SEC community for their kind words and especially their prayers in this incredibly sad time.
I just can't wait until the team can present Nick's mother with a ring from the upcoming bowl game.
You will be missed, Nick!

Sorry to hear the sad news. I know each week we tend to hate each other on the field, however, this is still the SEC family. I think the SEC should get together and all do a moment of silence for this young man. Rest in peace, thoughts go out to his family.

I hope the SEC takes every dollar in fine money they get from MSU and gives it to that poor family. Lord knows they need it more than the conference

Hate to see thing like this happen to young bright futures

Tragedy when a young man leaves us way, way before his time.
Sounds like he may have had a malignant melanoma.
My condolences to his family and teammates.
