I always thought 9/11 could have been much, much worse if the terrorists had waited a few days and flown the planes into major college football stadiums instead of buildings.

Funny story.

Sonic originated in Oklahoma and there was a guy in Norman who owned a franchise for years. In about 1980 he decided to get rid of his franchise and go independent. So he opened up a place called "Classic 50s Drive Inn" in that spot.

He did great... but it pissed off Sonic. So they built a new Sonic... literally right next to his place. That pissed off the people in Norman. Everybody went to Classic 50s and the Sonic would always be empty.

Finally, Sonic went nuclear. Closed the Sonic next to him and built a super fancy Sonic across the street... He still kicked their arse. Dude was a folk hero in Norman. I think he has passed now...but he was like a local Robin Hood type guy.

If you come to Norman this year for the game... On West Lindsey... you will see the dated old Classic 50s drive in across from the big fancy Sonic across the street. And if you do... check and see which on is busier.

Yes, OU will have revenge on UTx this year.

Mark my words. UTx will lose.

Weird. There was an incident at Oklahoma back in 2005 where a man attached an explosive device and blew himself up outside an Oklahoma-Kansas St football game. It was ruled a standard suicide, but I think it seems likely he had planned to try to get into the stadium to detonate it. I mean who commits suicide that way? Link to story:

He definitely tried to get in the stadium.

Yep. My uncle was at that game. He heard the explosion, and they'd only allow people to exit to the east of the stadium after the game.
