Currently Tennessee has the same record as aggy did lasst year. Both are or were 5-2 after 7 games.
aggy was 6-5 after 11 games. Tennessee travels to Arlington next weekend to Globe Life tournament. It'll be interesting for sure.

There is definitely a drop off with assistant coaches.
One thing SchlossDongle did well was hire good assistants.
I'm not really impressed by our staff.

Ok, so which assistant is the problem. As far as I know, there are only 2 left from last year. The pitching coach and Claunch.
He fired the hitting coach from last year and replaced him with himself. As far as I can tell, Pennington is nails and may be the best actual coach on the staff.
Last year had two major issues. First were the injuries. That was just a snake bitten year and that team was missing players pretty much the entire year. Second was hitting. That seems to be in better order except for the undisciplined first two games against Penn. But there was good discipline with the stick in that third game.
Pitching staff seems to be looking good and gaining confidence. Pennington has cleaned up the defense greatly. We get consistently disciplined at the plate and we will be fine.
I am withholding judgement until midway through the SEC schedule.

But seeing as our HC was the hitting coach under Schloss, WTF would he change his approach?
