Wouldn't be anything to rub in his face about. He said in the interview "I think we can get to Atlanta" not "we're going to get to Atlanta". He just said the typical teammate speak.

Patrick Towles thinks his team has the talent to get to Atlanta.

He's probably sick of being told his goal (or the goal) is winning 6 games. His goal (and the team's goal) is to win every freaking game. I would be sick of hearing it as well, frankly.

He said (or inferred) that the goal was to win every game, that he knows they play a tough schedules, that he believes they are talented enough to win every game (i.e., get to Atlanta).

Finebaum's specific question was "Where do you see this team going this year."

Only a pussy would have said "Well, shucks, Paul, we just hope we can work hard and be a bunch of competitors out there every game."

Good grief.

I think kentucky could finish as high as 3rd in the division.

3 easy non cons. Beat SC again. Beat Florida and Tenn at home. Vandy.

That is 7 very possible wins...not even including the other games.

So, I think yes, they are somewhat of a sleeper.

Considering UK football history, I just felt like it'd be better for him to tone it down (TO THE MEDIA, not amongst the team) as far as sayign they can absolutely get to atlanta.

Except he didn't say they were absolutely going to get to Atlanta. As said, Finebaum asked him their goal.

But using your logic, a Georgia QB shouldn't talk about a possible national championship since they haven't won one since 1980 or won the conference in a decade.

UK should have some talent. They've been siphoning good Ohio players for a while now under the current coaching staff.

I expect they'll beat someone they have no business beating this season, but in the long run, I think Stoops the Lesser is not the answer. They could be an emerging program at this point without him IMO.

They will be a sleeper for 3rd place in the East. 8-4 losses to Louisville, UGA, The Vols, one more.

For me, two wins will represent success if they're against Florida and Louisville. Anything else is butter.

If they played in the ACC or Big Ten I think they would have a legit shot at 8-9 wins. But no matter how good they get in the SEC, there will be 8-9 teams better than them.

I think they are a year away from hitting that 8 win mark. But a 7-5 6-6 type season this year will give them so momentum going forward. Stoops is recruiting some really good talent there and with additional depth they won't be an automatic win for most SEC teams moving forward.

I don't even think they're really a sleeper. I think they're guaranteed a 6 win season, a 7 win season is very probable, and an 8 win season is attainable. They can't knock off UGA or Tennessee though. Everyone else is fair game.

I think Whiskey John hit the nail on the head. I agree with him completely, and I think most reasonable UK fans would too.

High probability wins
LA Lafayette
Eastern KY
@ Vanderbilt
Charlotte

Better than usual probability wins
@ South Carolina (over the never beaten OBC hump now)
Florida (new coach and at home)
Missouri (10 point spread last year and home this year)
Tennessee (played 1 month earlier first time in over 100 years at home)

Rival games
@ Mississippi State
Louisville (moved from start of season to end of season and at home)

Low probability upsets
Auburn (at home and coming off BYE week)
@ Georgia

They'll beat mizzoo like a rented mule. Mizzoo without a pass rush, Towles will have a heyday.

Have your team beat us themselves before you type drivel.

Will do. I can see mizzoo with an 8 game losing streak - even with that "super tough" schedule. UK will not be a gimme game, neither will SC, UF, GA, okay I'll give you vandy - but I'll take MS, BYU, UT and Arky to take care of business against your team.

The Arkansas State game is in Jonesboro, should be interesting.

Have no idea about Uconn this year but say that will be a Mizzou win. I think the Tigers will beat BYU since it is not at BYU.
