Let's look at his record... 30 wins in 3 seasons, a BCSNC, an SEC title., three bowl wins (BCSNC, Outback, Chick-fil-a).. This after inheriting a team that had a losing records, lost to Vandy and beat MSU 3-2..... Great recruiting classes especially considering ALL of the circumstances..

At least 6 or 7 of those wins can be accredited to Cam Newton and Cam Newton alone.

Every win a college football coach gets can be accredited to the players. Great players make coaches look great (including Nick Saban).

Let me put it to you like this. Alabama would have probably still won the national championship in 2009 without Mark Ingram. That was a pretty good and dominant team. Cam Newton was that team in 2010. Without him (and I know you had him, I'm just saying if you didn't) Auburn was an 8-5 team. You can't say the same thing about '09 Alabama and Mark Ingram.

ETA: But still...the 2010 national championship is yours. Enjoy it because it probably won't happen again for a while.

Like I said, I can't see any way his seat gets hot until 2014 at minimum. He's got a BCSNC ring less than two years old for crying outloud!

Unless he has some type of scandal or continues to be blown out by 20+ multiple times per year then there just isn't a thing for him to worry about.

I actually think he'll be at AU for another 10+ years minimum.

This. That national championship bought him that amount of time, barring a complete and total collapse. As long as Chizik surrounds himself with competent people I don't see that happening though.

Do you really think Cam would have won the NC last year had he stayed?

At the margin, yes you're right. But the work of the entire team got them in position to win each and every game. So it was never completely "Cam Newton and Cam Newton alone."

Also, as long as he continues to recruit well, then he will keep his job there.

The few times Alabama was behind that year, did they need him to put the team on his shoulders and lead a come back?

Boom. Proved you wrong.

Urban Meyers win% drops 9 points from 84 to 75% without Tim and Alex. Great players have been scewing coach records for a while.
