It’s the crap public school system more than the damn flag that keeps business from coming. They don’t want to increase salaries to cover private school.

So you want each school fighting for money on their own down at the legislature? OM and MSU would do fine but the other 6 would be "whoa is me". We are better off with it than without. Be hard to unravel at this point.

I thought Malcolm Portera was pretty good.

As I remember it, Portera had the bright idea to REDUCE State's enrollment. I don't think he accomplished anything good for MSU.

It's affecting industries coming into the state which is why every other State has and will continue to surpass Mississippi. And every other Southeast state loves that Mississippi continues to raise that flag.

That’s not why. It’s because we have shite infrastructure, corrupt politicians, and a largely uneducated and unskilled workforce and we refuse to address these issues

You're just a typical pawn. Remember no one else wants to change their state flag to a Confederate flag.

well, Georgia did change their flag from one confederate flag (the battle flag) to another (the first national flag) but the majority of the voting populace was too stupid to realize that's what happened

Alabama changed their state flag at the turn of the 19th century to a flag modeled after the confederate battle flag and it has remain unchanged since (white with a red cross of St. Andrews).

North Carolina simply took their state flag adopted at the time of their secession and inverted the colors and changed the seal. This also occurred towards the end of the 19th century.

Florida's state flag is basically the same as Alabama's except with a state seal in the middle. It was also adopted at the turn of the century. (

It's worth noting that most of these confederate-based flags were adopted in response to the rise in Jim Crow laws in the late 1800s and early 1900s, but as with Georgia now, most people aren't in tune with the history that these flags actually represent because they don't carry with them negative connotation the "rebel flag" does, which is really odd considering how many historical monuments have been removed across the South over the past 10+ years. However, the original purpose of many of the state flags in the South was 100% racist due to the time and manner in which they were adopted.
