So, Bama fans want to say they deserve a rematch when LSU had to go into the most hostile environment imaginable on nov 5 AND STILL won the game? Now bama fans want to say they're the second best team based on a game they lost even though they played with a loaded deck? Oh, because Ok st. lost(in double overtime by the way) to a team ON THE ROAD, and with the added distraction of one of their athletic team's staffs getting wiped out by a plane crash. But some of you people want to talk about a point spread. An L is a damn L. Period. 2nd best in the nation? All we know is who's 2nd best in the conference. Mcaroon sucks, but bama's more deserving than teams who have big time qbs, have the SAME # of losses, will win their conference championships and blew away the rest of their competition? You lame arse prideless Bama fans deserve the worst kinda beatdown imaginable if a rematch does happen, although I'm pretty sure it won't.

My point is you can't say OSU won't beat OU just because they lost to ISU, because its obvious ISU is much better than the team that beat OU.

Not sure what beating a team that has already been beat by TT and Baylor really buys you?

If OSU beats OU, what we know is ISU > OSU > OU and then toss in TT and Baylor however you see fit?

most years transitional football logic carried far enough allows you to claim a top five team is worse than a lousy midmajor or bad 1aa program

which is to say it is stupid to use in an argument

a better argument for OU or OkS by far is not the game they lost but the whole season instead... because for teh season as a whole they have not looked as good as Bama IMO

upsets happen in individual games - that is not as meaningful as what was done most of the year

When all is said done, voters are going to look back on nov 5 and remember that even though LSU went into BDS ranked #1, nobody believed they could win that game. When the tigers left with a W it was pretty clear who the better team was, regardless of excuses the losers were trying to make. The reality is that bama is who everyone thought they were, so in a rematch they could do absolutely nothing different other than get beat worse. End of story, on to the next one.

May be a Captain Obvious statement, but if Bama beats Auburn convincingly that would certainly aid their cause. A close win over Auburn coupled with an Okie St. trouncing of OU would probably vault Okie St over Bama in the BCS standings.

agree to a point. Definitely won the game fair and square and were the better team that day.

The real issue is that the best team in the country had to beat them in overtime. Still, nothing wrong with that. But given the performance of every other team that could have made a good candidate... they all blew it. You are trying to hard to convince yourself that OK State with their 130+ nationally ranked defense and loss to a 4 TD underdog in ISU is more deserving than bama with their close loss to the best team in overtime. Your issue shouldn't be with bama but the rest of the shitty teams out there.

It is what it is

No, my issue is with bama using a loss as grounds to play for the national championship when we don't even know for certain that they lost to the best team. All we know is that bama isn't. There was a time when everyone thought the best team was Oklahoma.

All i care about is LSU beating Ark.

That would put us in the SECCG and then i want to beat Georgia

Having done that we will be in the NCG and i dont really care who it is i just want to get there so we can whip whoever is put in front of us.

Because if we get to the NC game it will be in our home state, in front of a LSU crowd, and for all the marbles.

Si can care less about all this other bs because truth be told we have our destiny in our hands and in our control.

Win 2 more and we are there and dont have to play these bama rematch or bama bcs games.

And if it is bama in there it will be the 2 best teams and it will be another tough game.

So let me recap

LSU needs to focus on arky
beat them then beat georgia
then beat NC opponent

Bama needs to worry and cry and write and beg and plead to the bcs voters.

Ill take the tougher road with my tigers any day. Either way for LSU it has already been one hell of a season and putting 3 more wins on top and it would be probably the greatest in history.

BAH I am past the point of caring now. I'm sure Bedlam will be a shootout like it was last year, so who knows wtf will happen. Wasn't the game decided in like the last minute last year?

If OU pulls off the W will that settle this issue once and for all?

Do we hoot and holler when a wild card team goes on to win the Super Bowl or the World Series?

A bad analogy since, if Alabama goes to the BCSNCG, they will not have been treated like a wild card team but rather a division winner who got a first round bye. A more pertinent question would be "do we hoot and holler when the NFL division winners with the best record in each conference have to play a playoff game while a non-division winner gets to play the winner of one of these games." That's never happened. If insanity took hold in the NFL and it did, yes there would be hooting and hollering aplenty.

You are correct. An OU win would cement a Bama/LSU rematch.

I think it's funny that so many of you think that if this happens, it might make any difference at all to Alabama's ranking. There's only two ways Alabama's not #2 or #1 come Sunday night:

1. Auburn beats them.
2. Arkansas beats LSU and the voters decide to move Arky ahead of Bama while keeping LSU #1 or #2.

Both scenarios are unlikely imo. Possible, but unlikely.
You can book this. If Bama beats AU and LSU beats Arky, then LSU will play in the SECCG and the LSU Bama rematch will happen in the BCSNCG. Even if LSU loses to UGA.

Then your complaint is with the SEC, not Bama for creating the money grab that is the SECCG. Unless LSU is willing to repay their share of all the conference championship (and TV revenues from the CBS contracts based on a SECCG as part of the package), then don't complain about having to play UGa. That's like griping about supper with your mouth full.

You haven't even watched OSU have you? Blew away the competition? They were extremely fortunate to beat aTm late after being down for most of the game. They GAVE UP 45 POINTS to K State which was inside their 5 to tie the game again at 52. No wonder you want to play them. Puss.

The media loves to stir the pot. What else were they going to write about - Ohio vs Miami (OH)? You'll see articles supporting the rematch and oppoing the rematch until it does or doesn't happen - big deal.

LSU fans = the most insecure fan base - focus on the Arky game you might be surprised at the outcome.

It don't matter what Okie state does they got beat by an awful Iowa state team, meanwhile we still have a ranked Auburn team on the road to beat, anyone that thinks Oklahoma state gets in without a Bama loss is just dumb...
