That was a typo - meant to say that in the eyes of any poster or fan a team that won it's conference say OSU with a 10-1 record will be deemed higher than a 3rd place SEC team with a 10-1 record.

Is it fair if the SEC team is better- no ;but that is the way it is.

Got it. And, it makes sense

BUT Alabama will be slightly better at defending the option IF they play again....

and LSU is not going to take input from the previous game and just go in with the same plan?

If they were able to change plans mid-game in a high pressure away game at Bama , don't you think they would be able to plan better (with more in depth knowledge) in 5 weeks?

It was a different kind of game man. I'm not exactly sure when LSU started running the option with JJ and all that but the score was LOW after the first half. Alabama had shut LSU down it seemed.....I guess you saw Lee dominating Alabama

it was largely a poker game, if one team had jumped out by 2 scores the other's game plan would have changed significantly. May have worked, may not have, but the way both defenses were playing, very little risk was going to be put into the offense. LSU missed big time on the pass to Shepard before the half, they also had a great opportunity on the 3rd down at the end of the game to play action as Bama was stacked in the box, but Les figured a run and punt was the safer play.

The team failed to execute when it had a chance for points, bottom line.

Your kickers are average. They are good for about 1-in-4 FGs at 50+ yards into the wind under the best of circumstances.

Considering the pressure of the moment, they certainly performed at level.

Yes I believe LSU will be on top of everything they need to be game plan wise. I guess I see it as everybody knows what Alabama is gonna do. Everybody knows Trent will have the ball a shite ton. He'll run it. He'll catch it. Try to stop him. LSU did when they needed to. If there is a rematch I have this part of me that thinks they can use Trent a little better around the redzone. I don't think Alabama was fully ready to defend the option that LSU threw at them. LSU was better in many areas of the game and of a team. I think Alabama can close that gap.

Who knows who is going to play in the BCS. Still lots of football left. It will be in the hands of some 140 voters along with 6/7 computer programs. I will find it unlikely if AL beats AU that the majority of the 140 voters who all have Alabama at No 2 at the moment to move them lower. No doubt; some could, but not the majority that would be necessary to move Ok St above them in the human polls. The computer polls give a lot of weight to away games, thus I don't see much change in the computer polls if AL wins at AU and OSU wins at home against OK.

I do know AL is out if they lose to AU.
I do know LSU is almost assuredly out if they lose to AR. There will be NO time for LSU to make a move if they lose at home to the flagship.

Most people don't want a rematch but there is really no question who the best two teams in the country are right now.

what? You act like we ran one fluke series of option and thats how we won. Then you snap your fingers in bowl practice and you're awesome at defending it. We ran it from teh first Your defense got worse at defending it as the game went along. Did you see overtime? Georgia Southern ran it with D2 athletes and ran all over you.

Why should a team that loses a game in a weak conference/division be given a 2nd chance, and a team who plays in the toughest conference and division in college football be penalized?

Alabama wouldn't be penalized. They would just be evaluated against a team that beat them once and has a significantly tougher schedule.

No one with half a brain who has watched this football season to date can say with a straight face that LSU and Bama are not the two best teams in college football.

There is nobody with half a brain who can say Alabama has looked like even a top 20 team since it played LSU.

OSU got caught looking ahead against Oklahoma. We've seen that happen over and over and over again. OSU wins that game 98 out of 100 times. I'm a lot more willing to forgive that loss than Bama's loss to LSU in which they had the biggest home field advantage in the history of college football.

OSU got caught sleeping. It was not reflective of their true potential. Alabama had every advantage in the world, in the biggest game of the year, at home, and got beat.

Bottom line,

We have a rematch coming. Round 2. Is it fair? Not to LSU. But the entire nation wants to see it. If you're and LSU fan and support it, then cheers to ya.

If not, go cry. 9-6? I ain't even mad. Cause we still going to the BCSNCG.
