I would think that the number of players drafted into the NFL would be a good indicator of which conference is best. And the SEC wins that argument big time.

You simply can't use bowl season as a conference evaluation proxy anymore. It was a poor comparison even in the past, with one game after a 3 - 4 week layoff being the key datapoint, but it's 100x worse now. The playoffs are really the only measuring stick today, and even so, not indicative of total conference performance.

The SEC recruits a lot more mercenary type players that don’t give a shite about playing for school pride.

There’s cope on both sides of the argument.

You can pretend that Virginia minus a couple key players beating Mizzou minus a couple of key players 13-7 is some huge harbinger of conference strength.

It isn’t.

And the SEC has definitely come back to the pack.

I think SEC fans have underestimated the Big 10.

No matter what, you’re seeing it’s a physical league

It's the Big10's world. We're just living in it.

No.

5 teams in the playoffs so generally you're going to see lower rated SEC teams playing higher rated teams from other conferences.

Using conference rankings:

#9 Missouri vs #1 Virginia
#10 LSU vs #4 Houston

Big 10 is closer since they got multiple teams in. Tennessee and Illinois are both about 8th. Texas and Michigan both about the same.
