Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, etc... not so much.

It’s a way of life there too, but stadiums are big enough to where you wouldn’t need to scalp a ticket. Katy, North Shore, Allen, etc…definitely a way of life.

Show me your sources.

We took this kid out of Missouri City, TX as an OLB and turned him into a 1st RD draft pick at Mike, which he had never played before. He's the starting Mike for the Chargers.

It's not the talent.

Nah. Southeast football is a lot more physical. Alot more big boys in the trenches.

Some say Texas High School Football is overrated

Some say The Texas Longhorns Suck

Some say a lot of kids leave the state of Texas (presumably because the whole state is overrated)

I’m starting to think all three can be true

Why can't Clemson win football games with South Carolina high school players?

Why does South Carolina suck so much at High School football?

Why is your #1 rated commitment from Texas?

LOL

You didn't win your last natty by playing smashmouth physical football. You won it by flinging the ball downfield to a WR group that had a very high 1 on 1 win ratio against DBs, as an entire unit.

Are you talking about Cade Klubnik? From the same high school that produced Drew Brees and Nick Foles, 2 super bowl MVP's? Yeah, he's probably overrated.
Good troll OP.

Waiting list for PNG tickets is something like 11 years. Home side is 8500 and total attendance is well north of 10,000.

I played for Cy Fair just outside Houston. We had large crowds. Small towns still shut down for Friday night football. Same in Odessa and a few other areas. Nothing in Houston shuts down. Same for any other larger city.

7v7 changed the game a lot here. A lot for finesse football focused on offense vs. The old days of smashmouth offense & defense.

Like I said, soft.

eta doesn’t mean there isn’t a lot of talent from Texas

That’s Easy

1. He doesn’t want to play with underrated recruits

2. Doesn’t want to go to a university that sucks

3. And wants to leave a state that is generally overrated

Come on boy, try and keep up.

Not ALL Texas recruits are overrated, and a good way to know they’re not...

If Clemson or Alabama try to recruit them ;)

If you are talking about the sips they are overrated for sure. Bobby Burton who founded Rivals and is now with 247 is a big sip Grad and they have always gotten a bump from their commits.

If you are talking about Texas HS football I guess it's all perspective. It's the best and produces more than any other state. Four of the last 10 Overall 1st Picks to the NFL were from Texas and no other state had more than one. Looking at the list posted from 2020 only 4 out of the Top 100 kids in Texas didn't go to Power 5 schools and most of the kids through the Top 150 did. So I guess you think college coaches can't evaluate talent either.

Look at any list. All Americans. Heisman Winners. First Round picks. They are littered with Texas kids and usually Texas has the most. Florida is the only state that is close at all. If you combined the Southern States or went by population then that might be more but that's mainly because Texas has a large Hispanic population in South Texas that DGAF about HS football and produces very little high end talent. Houston, Dallas, Austin, North and East Texas are all loaded with talent.

Of course if Clemson wants to stop recruiting Texas that's fine. Please do in fact.

Not in the least. They have some games where every player on the field is a D1 prospect. Only problem with Texas is their players are recruited nationally, and spread out over many schools in-state.

What 4 things do Drew Brees, Nick Foles, and Cade Klubnik have in common?

1. They’re not overrated

2. They’ll never attend The University of Texas

3. They left the State of Texas

4. They are all winners

I feel like my work here is done

Who says you can’t mess with Texas?

Go Tigers!

Goodnight all

PS - God Bless America & Texas too :)

Kind of hard to keep up with moving goalposts, your topic is about Texas high school football being overrated, now it's about the universities in Texas. Or is about BBQ? One thing you agree on that I do as well, South Carolina is trash at high school football.
