The SEC needs a strong Tennessee.
I have been waiting for the resurrection and they always let the SEC down.

Let's get this shite together Smokey!

Yeah the coaching search was much more entertaining then actually watching their football team play

They were hanging with Bama in football this year and had momentum until a series of strange calls. Just sayin.

Never is a bold strategy

I stand by the word NEVER

In order for Tenn to win it all all these things have to happen:

UGA has to be down
FLA has to be down
BAMA has to be down
LSU has to be down
Clemson has to have weak Recruiting classes
Ohio State has to have weak Recruiting classes
FSU has to have weak Recruiting classes
Auburn has to have weak Recruiting classes
All the P5 Schools in The Carolinas have to have weak Recruiting classes

In summary a lot of Dominoes have to line up and fall perfectly for Tenn to even make a CFP much less win the CFP

For example Tenn can have a great season and actually win the TSIO, win the SEC-E and then run into LSU in the SEC-CG and end up in a NY6 Bowl vs a shytty Big-12 Team

The more that I think about it, the more confident I am in my "never prediction" for the Vols, but hey you guys can always reminisce about all the times Peyton took you guys to the Citrus Bowl

Great meme, still doesn't change the core facts of what Tenn FB is and will be in 2020 and beyond

Cute catchy memes might "win the internet for a day", and after all that, the facts remain the same

I stand by my version of the facts, and enjoy your 7-5 or 8-4 existence for the foreseeable future

It's fun and all and I'll play along as long you like because I'm a good internet web board friend like that. However, the silliness of unsubstantiated opinionated absolute facts are foolish and tiresome.

Fair enough

Please explain Tenn's 20 year foray into the CFB abyss with no end in sight?

Can't be all bad luck if it lasts for 20+ years

Men's basketball is garbage and we still got the 6 seed in the SEC Tourney. Like, how?

The short answer is incompetent leadership from the chancellors on down to head coaches.

Every thing that you pointed to as a current hindrance held true to the runs in the 80's-90's.

If Tennessee gets solid leadership the kids will want to come back to Tennessee. It's not like recruiting has been habitually bad.

The resources are in place for a successful program.

I mean, not too many programs could survive Dave Hart and John Currie.

Lord, then you have booger eating Chancellor Jimmy Cheek.

This was said during the season on Sirius XM College Football Round-table show. They said everything has lined up against Tenn and it will be difficult for them to do anything about it in Football. Highlighted by the fact the Clemson and Ga. have passed them up in such a big way in recruiting are the two main factors that have hurt them the most.Expect Tenn to continue to be just a mid-level SEC team at best for a long time. This was coming from a Tenn. writer too.

It's all true and it's always been the case with regard to football.

I'm a firm believer in situations being cyclical. A strong leadership core at Tennessee will produce winning football.

The comparison has been Nebraska, the same can be said for them with regard to leadership. Weak leadership allowed Nebraska to lose their identity.

Steve Pederson destroyed Nebraska Football's identity when he fired Frank Solich.
