The real problem is that shytty HS FB is played in Tenn, and they aren't Recruiting vs Donnan's UGA or Bowden at Clemson, or Tommy West or whoever
Kurby & Dabo have Ga virtually locked down
Ohio State has Ohio locked down to the North, Saban dominates what Talent Alabama HSs put out
Mack Brown is back at UNC until he croaks and he's an ace Recruiter, combine he & Dabo and the Carolinas are a no go for the Vols
Florida might be a place where Tenn might be able to do well, but IMO the Talent in Fla is down in some Areas, all 3 major Programs in FLA have issues at OLine and QB, the only reason that UF, FSU, & Miami all have issues at QB and OLine is that the talent from FLA HSs must be down in those Areas
IMO the main problem with Tenn starts with unreasonable expectations, first you must define in a FAIR MANNER, what is Tenn in FB?
1 five year run with Tee Martin & Peyton Manning that includes 1 MNC boltstered by Clint Stoerner's stupidity doesn't make Tenn an elite CFB Program, having 100K Stadium doesn't make them a FB power either
The truth is, is that based on the quality of HS FB in their homestate, Tenn is an 8-4 to 7-5 level P5 Program with the ability to punch above their weight and win 9 or 10 games MAYBE 3 times per decade, basically they are a CFB Program that will never make a serious run at a CFP Championship
The last time Tenn won a Championship, Donnan was at UGA and missed Recruiting Cosey Coleman, Jamal Lewis, & Deion Grant out of the same Recruiting Class, maybe they were within 1 yr of each other, anyway, that's not gonna happen with Kurby, Dabo, or Saban, or Orgeron, or Jimbo in the SEC
Be happy for that 5 year run 2 decades ago, you'll never achieve such highs ever again, Tenn Vols you are the poster child of what a Paper Tiger is ,as it relates to P5 CFB

It’s really hard to believe and unexplainable. They have the same resources as Fla. Ga. LSU, Bama and Auburn but it’s just the same scenario every year.
