You have an "all defense" coach.

Stoops was a defensive coach.

Saban was a defensive coach.

We hired a defense coach because the defense was broken for several years.

Every HC comes from offense or defense background in their careers.

You seem to be implying that we can't be good on offense because our HC comes from a defensive background and that means we're going to be "Nerbrasky!", which is retarded.

*And learn the difference between "your" and "you're".

Sabans time at Alabama is split in two the first half with stout defense and game manager Offense...OU is trying to build to this standard.

Which led to a rarity.....

He hired Kiffin and Sark (because USC is more delusional than even OU)and they were able to recruit players that would not have come to Bama without them. At this point, Saban became a CEO.

Stoops was a moron who got lazy in a conference that didn't play defense.

The opposite was true at UF with Dan Mullen, his offense would not allow the best mercenary type DCs to succeed. Same with the Pirate.

Not quite sure. I’d put the following before it (no particular order):
- Ohio St.
- Michigan
- Penn St.
- Oregon
- Clemson
- Bama
- Georgia
- LSU
- Texas
- Texas A&M (I hate to say this)
- Tennessee (I hate to say this)
- Florida St.
- Florida
- Southern Cal

Uhh, where's Notre Dame?

A&M's in that top job listing simply because they'll pay money.

Notre Dame caught us at a fortuitous time with all that went on.

Notre Dame was a good team last year. There's no shame in losing to them in a bowl game, especially when your longtime starting QB was injured.

Our coach's dad was dying at a hospital a few miles away and the city was dealing with a terror attack. They got lucky.

I think they're "lucky," so to speak, because your QB was injured.

Y'all crushed yourselves with two fumbles, one deep in their territory and another deep in your own. ND stopped a likely score with the first and capitalized on scored on the second. That was a 10 point swing, which was the game.

Sure, but we just didn't have the extra gear overall, which is rare for a Kirby led team.. he had so much on his plate, I don't blame him

I would agree, but that’s why I put neighborhood. I think any of those 4 coaches could be stollen by the other 3 programs and it not shock anyone.

Is Notre Dame really an elite job if LSU can poach their head coach with no prior connections?

texas fans hoping and praying that OU will be as bad as they have been the last 20 years. Not going to happen. OU has had 1 bad decade in their history the 1990's. texas has literally been Nebraska. Say what you want about last year that was 1 unforeseen year but OU has not had a Tom Herman or Charlie Strong. At least I don't think our HC has been kissing players on the mouth. Norman is 2.5 hours from the DFW metroplex. The Cotton Bowl is closer to Norman than Austin we will be fine.

Dumb question.

Oklahoma wanted to change from being an offensive based team to being a defensive based team. There was going to be a transition period no matter who they hired.

They have a great defense and it's somewhat hard to judge their offense after all the injuries they had last year.

I'm still trying to figure out why this Georgia fan thinks we're going to have a "game manger" offense just because Brent is a defensive coach and how that means it's "either or" and "there's no balance".

It boggles my mind.

And we aren't changing to a "defensive based team". We're changing to a complimentary football team.

IDC what kind of team OU 'changes' to so long as the team wins more than it loses.

They got lucky

Luck didn't have much to do with them sustaining drives in the 2nd half and keeping the ball away from our offense. They obviously studied the GT film and saw the weakness we had in stopping a read option QB.

They obviously took advantage of our mistakes in the 1st half but also kept us from making a 2nd half run.
