Funny you say that about Oklahoma. I suppose you’ve never driven I49 in SW Missouri near the Arkie border. Looks like pictures of Mars with no trees, no grass, only red dirt.
All time worst drive in my opinion is I55 from MO border south to near West Memphis.

Thems got fused which ways a yonder was so they ended up in the wrong spot and no one will give them a ride back.

It’s actually much prettier than Oklahoma AND Louisiana.

Kansas is the worst.. but Oklahoma has by far the worst drivers in the nation.. and the worst roads. It's a pathetic state.

Other than the fact that metro Oklahoma City has an NBA franchise and Birmingham doesn't, Oklahoma City has little if anything more to offer than metro Birmingham does. It has a couple of very nice suburbs (as does Tulsa) but you could say the same about metro Bham, metro Mobile (the Eastern Shore), and metro Huntsville in Alabama. Alabama doesn't have a #2 metro as large or as vibrant as metro Tulsa, but Alabama has quite a few sizable metros whereas Oklahoma is totally dominated by two metros with practically nothing behind those two.
I've driven through Oklahoma from Dallas all the way to Kansas a couple of times, from Ft Smith and from Fayetteville thru the Tulsa area a couple of times, and even been to the Wichita Mtns area on another trip out West. That area is quite pretty and a few areas in the extreme eastern part of the state and around Tulsa are quite pretty but overall it's mindnumbingly flat and treeless. On the other hand, the entire northeastern half of Alabama (from a line near the Florence area to barely east of Tuscaloosa to just north of Auburn) is rolling tree covered hills and mountain ridges including a number of mountain lakes and rivers. The flatter areas of the state are lush, heavily wooded areas. Oklahoma actually has some pretty areas, Alabama just has a lot more of them than Oklahoma does. That's not a knock on Oklahoma though.
I'm willing to concede that Oklahoma City and Tulsa are probably more fun than say Birmingham, Huntsville, or Mobile, but I'd rather live in Mobile for example and be 2 hours from New Orleans and right at the beach or in Birmingham and be a 2.5 to 3 hour drive from Atlanta and Nashville and 4 hour drive to the beach and a 4 to 5 hour drive to the eastern TN/western NC mountains than be 3 hours from Dallas/Ft Worth (in OKC) and forever and a day from anything else in OKC or Tulsa.

This invalidates everything you have to say. Mobile is one of the worst cities in the country. It's worse than Cleveland.

I have been to every state listed above and that's my honest opinion. You could argue bias that Tennessee is first, but I think it's not a coincidence we are home to the country's most visited park.
As for Oklahoma, I have driven on 40 all the way through that state and there is nothing to see. I know that doesn't speak for the whole state, but 40 through OK is a miserable drive with no scenery, wind that will blow your car off the road, and tumbleweeds that are all over the highway. Not a pretty place.
Now I will say this: Oklahoma City is a very nice city. I enjoyed it. Impressive skyline, nice downtown, and friendly residents.

Beavers Bend State Park in SE Oklahoma beats the pants off any state park in Alabama

Not hard to do. Alabama minimally funds their state parks, and it shows. Their facilities are a time capsule of the year 1964.

You'd have to be a moron to put Louisiana above Missouri or Mississippi in this contest.
