I think we (aggy) make a pretty good argument for holding that title, followed by UGA as a distant #2, but I expect them to be replaced by OSU at the #2 spot after the NC game this year.

How many championships does Ohio State, Texas and Georgia have? That should give you your answer.
They have 4 combined since 1971

It is not that, it is the fact that OSU has had so many weeks at AP #1 you would think they would have closed the deal more.
However, since you asked, I would put Alabama, USCw and Oklahoma above OSU.
Historically, I think you have to put Notre Dame above Ohio State too

The Sooners were straight up gangsta criminals under Switzer. Buster Rhymes shooting a machine gun off the balcony, Charles Thompson fiasco. Bosworth was the “nice “ guy on the team back then. That’s how bad it was.

I don’t think any reasonable UGA fan would say we haven’t underachieved relative to our advantages even if the state and university profile has changed over the last 40 years. Realistically UGA and FL should live in the top 10.
This can be true and still acknowledge that the all or nothing nonsense of considering NC’s the only measure of achievement when for over 100 years they’ve been voted or claimed. Ergo the thought that the 2007 LSU team is more accomplished than the 2004 Auburn team is patently stupid and almost entirely circumstantial.

Underachieving. I don't think that word means what you think it means.

Ohio isn't FL, GA, TX, CA, or even LA for talent but it is a good state for HS Talent. They are the only p5 (for now) school in the state. It's not an outlandish comment.

Alabama is. They way they recruit and with the coaches they have, no excuse not to win every year.

I would say Georgia had underachieved HARD for the past 20 or so years. The team was very different in the 90s.
