Florida hired a sunbelt coach.

LSU hired a ND coach with a 30 year history of success. (Personal character not withstanding)

Before you start yelping about Billy's success in the sunbelt, it was the sunbelt. The freaking sunbelt. Nothing anyone accomplished in the sunbelt should ever be indicative of any ability to succeed in real football.
The Sunbelt lololol. I would look at their middle school coaching before I looked at their sunbelt experience

Sunbelt? I guess it won't work out for Curt Cignetti. Or maybe Florida shouldn't have gambled on a Mountain West coach.

Making a splash hire typically doesn't mean you care about winning, it means you care about satisfying a fan base.

LSU campus is amazing. How often do students leave the campus? Not too often.

Plus kids in Louisiana are loyal to LSU or it's their dream to play there...Florida has gone through a lot of coaches since Urban..LSU won 2 Natty's with Orgeron and Miles aren't exactly in the Mount Rushmore of Coaches.

The biggest advantage that LSU has over Florida is that there is no in-state competition for recruits. It's a borderline cult in Louisiana with how much in-state kids love LSU. Even if the program is a mess, they'll stay home because "dey LSU.

Not really. Here is what percentage of Louisiana’s top 10 ranked recruits signed with LSU.

2025: 50%
2024: 90%
2023: 40%
2022: 40%
2021: 70%
2020: 30%
2019: 80%
2018: 60%
2017: 30%
2016: 80%

Some years they lock the state up. Other years they leave the gate open. Overall, they have signed 57% of Louisiana’s top recruits the past ten cycles.

In terms of the difference in talent volume between Florida and Louisiana, Louisiana produced 7 total five star recruits the last 5 seasons (2021-2025 per on3). The state of Florida produced 31 total five star recruits the last 5 seasons.

No.

LSU has more success recently, and is more willing to drop serious money, but there's no reason Florida couldn't be on the same level right now.

Doesn't matter now. Kiffin has pretty much confirmed he is staying.

The immediate north is a ghetto, but everything else is fine.

And if you're surprised that a college is close to a ghetto, you haven't been to very many colleges.

So the rest of the tRant and TD is a bunch of nobodies? Interesting.

You're going to make them very upset.

But can someone actually explain to me with facts, not emotions, how LSU is superior for Florida?

LSU's athletic endowment is bigger than its academic endowment.

We don't give a shite about academics.
