Surely they did - every other SEC team has won their opener so far.

Under this AD, you will see a commitment to both football and basketball. Not so much with past AD Alleva imo.

Right now we're at 14 of our 21 team sports. Couple more programs close to getting their first.

In the SEC a winning team will get plenty of interest regardless of what court/field they play in. You can't draw too many conclusions then. It’s when things are bad that true colors emerge. The passion for College Football is stronger in most SEC Schools by a mile.

LSU if anything is a Baseball school. One of the few places in the country where fans really get passionate when things don't go well. Fortunately this doesn't happen often.

It’s an Agricultural and Mechanical College.

But more importantly, I would say that LSU is a public research university.

LSU does field both a football and basketball team, along with 19 other varsity sports teams.

Have a blessed day!

They should just feel lucky to be called a school at all. They barely qualify as that.

remember this...?

Auburn University Placed on Probation

It is a major slap in the face and a loss of prestige for Auburn University's Board of Trustees. Tuesday, the group that Southern Association of Colleges and Schools(SACS), which certifies southern universities for academics and administration put the school on probation. The agency regularly checks schools and colleges and awards accreditation to institutions that earn its seal of approval.

Auburn is still fully accredited, but the sanction imposed by the association is one step short of SACS' most serious punishment -- revoking a college's accreditation. A loss of accreditation would have meant the loss of hundreds of (M) millions of dollars in federal aid for Auburn and its students.

LSU fans are passionate about anything LSU.

I don't get why other fanbases don't understand this. Yes it's different. But LSU being good at something makes the sadness of everyday life in Louisiana a little less tough to swallow.
