I don't think blue blood is even a thing in the playoffs era ...
With some exception, it's largely a has been club....

No. To me blue blood means multiple championships over multiple decades.
Alabama
Ohio State
USC
Notre Dame
Michigan
Texas
Oklahoma
That’s it.

No. Bama is the only SEC blue blood.

I hope so. LSU is much closer than Georgia is, though.
You are fast making a case for yourselves. If we don't get over that 1980 hump, though...

This is such horseshite. I'm not arguing we're "blue bloods" because I think we're just outside of that tier, but LSU won a title in 1908 and 1958 for fricks sake.
We've won 5 national titles now in 4 different decades.
If you take out the Ivys, these are LSU's ranks:
- 12th all time in wins
- 14th all time winning %
- 10th all time in weeks in AP poll
- 11th all time in weeks at #1 in AP poll
- 8th all time in bowl game appearances
All of these stats combined make LSU a top 8 all time program. There are not many teams that are this highly ranked in all of these metrics.

Michigan - 1 NC since the 40s but undeniably blue blood. This isn’t all cut and dry.

Blue blood teams were created before 1980. The teams considered to have a great history from 1930-1980. They need a revised, legitimate list of blue bloods since then.
Miami
Bama
LSU
Clemson
Florida
FSU
Ohio State
Maybe ND, USC, Nebraska, Auburn

They could easily argue 1911,1912,1969,1986 and 1994. They went undefeated in all of those years.
I did say 6 NC, but after checking 5 is more reasonable.

Auburn and Miami is no where close to blue blood status. Not taking a shot at either team but both need to add a lot more to each school’s resume.

An argument could easily be made for these statements.
Traditional teams thought of as Blue Bloods have definitely suffered in the modern era. Alabama and Ohio State are two that are still relevant to this conversation. None of the others have won a NC lately....and most have not even contended for one.
ETA
Oklahoma contends.

Up until the dawn of the 21st century, LSU had three 10-win seasons in their entire history. Alabama had five seasons of 10 wins or more in the 90s alone. LSU is about as new money as it gets for college football.

No and no.
LSU is close. If we keep winning over the next 10 years like we have been, I think you can bump us up. We'll need a few more conference titles and another natty to be honest. Blue Blood is not what are you doing now, but more what have you done in your entire history. We have more work to do.
UGA needs a lot more nattys...like 3-4 over the next 15-20 years to be in consideration. All-time considered, UGA is still solidly behind UA, UT, and LSU and maybe UF in conference pecking order.

UA/ND/OU/OSU are the only blues.

Better question. When does blue blood status end ? Texas and Notre Dame, Penn St and Nebraska, I contend they shouldn't be on list any longer. Bama and OSU certainly are. Oklahoma is considered a blue blood and I believe they still belong on the list.
LSU is closest to joining the blue blood group.

I get UA and LSU, but the other two..no. UGA is second in conference titles ahead of UT. UF has only won conference titles in 2 decades, 90s and 2000s.

No one is saying we're Alabama. This isn't about you.
But this argument is disingenuous because of schedule expansion. LSU was a top program in the late 50s/early 60s. We have a goddamn national title in 1908 and 1958. If that is "new money" to you I don't know what the frick to tell you. We had a bad 90s obviously and people seem to think that we didn't exist before that. "New money as it gets in college football" is absurdly hyperbolic and incorrect. There are plenty of teams that fall into the "new money" category, LSU isn't one just because we sucked in the 90s.
I averaged all the metrics I listed and LSU came in at 10th all time with Nebraska ahead of them, which I think we've surpassed.
These are the results averaging ranks of all time wins, weeks in AP poll, weeks at #1, bowl game appearances, and all time win %:
1 Alabama
2 Ohio State
3 Oklahoma
4 Michigan
5 Texas
6 USC
7 Nebraska
8 Notre Dame
9 Penn State
10 LSU
11 Tennessee
12 Georgia
13 Florida
14 Clemson
15 Auburn
16 Washington
17 Texas A&M
18 Michigan State
19 Georgia Tech
20 West Virginia
21 Virginia Tech
22 Pittsburgh
23 Arkansas
24 Army
25 Colorado
FYI the averages had a pretty big drop off after Georgia at 12.
