It’s apparently a direct quote cited from a book that hasn't been refuted by anyone involved.
Saban has since publicly denied making the specific quote, stating on The Pat McAfee Show: "I've never made a quote about Lane Kiffin, so it wasn't from me".

He never made a quote to the media, doesn’t mean he didn’t say that for someone else to have quoted.
Again none of them have ever forced a retraction of the book.

It’s alleged and anonymous from what I understand, both Sexton and Saban have refuted.
Just because neither have demanded a retraction doesn’t validate the statement as being true.
Saban/Sexton could sue for libel if either could prove they suffered harm which they have not. Regardless retractions aren’t as common as you suggest.
That said, maybe it’s true, maybe it’s not. I don’t really care either way.

Do you have evidence of Saban specifically refuting that he said that to Sexton?
You said he hasn’t talked about Kiffin publicly which doesn’t at all mean he wasn’t talking to people in the building or his agent about the situation as I provided multiple reports ranging from ESPN to Alabama staffers verifying that he was in fact irate at the time with LK.

You seem to care enough to be trying to refute a book published by a guy with a bunch of NYT bestsellers and who worked for CBS for 10-20 years.

See my initial post, he stated this on Pat Macaffe show. Also, for what it’s worth google AI said both have refuted.

I never said that.

I’m sure he was talking to people in the building. But again, you’re stating as fact a disputed unsubstantiated quote.
quote:
I provided multiple reports ranging from ESPN to Alabama staffers verifying that he was in fact irate at the time with LK.
Were the Alabama staffers who attributed to this quote named?
Of course he was irate with Kiffin, he fired him.

We’re just having conversation, right? I don’t really care, I’m just saying that you are stating as fact what is unsubstantiated and denied.
Also, best sellers are released all the time citing refuted allegations.

Kiffin has a reputation for a reason. We all know who he is, even the most confident LSU fan knows deep inside that Kiffin has a problematic side and they have every right to be a little nervous about that aspect of his character. That said, he’s not doing illegal collusion shite to sabotage games. And Kirby wouldn’t want anything to do with that anyway and doesn’t need Kiffin’s help. Kiffin’s form of petty revenge would just be to assemble a good game plan and some goofy arse quotes to drop vs. Ole Miss next year.

The fact is LK was at OM for 6 seasons and brought them to levels they hadn’t been in 60+ years.OM fans loved him and now he’s a spurned lover.Everybody knows he’s a great coach and are affraid of what he can accomplish at LSU ,hence the hate and bringing up past questionable antics. Is he a saint ,he’ll no,but all we and fans of other teams want is to win football games and he will do that in spades.GEAUX TIGERS!!!
