I would love to see what he could do at Alabama with a top notch QB.

I think he has done pretty well. Sometimes he gets on the pass, screens, and sweeps too much, but overall he has done well.

I don't think he gets enough credit for what he did with Blake Sims last season, and Coker this season.

Yep, I can't think of another coach in the sec can do what he did with those two.

Prof hit the nail on the head. Dude has a genius offensive IQ but his uncreative anti-Freshwater side is sooooo bad that it sometimes overrides his great calls. Like a bipolar tropical centipede that is extremely hungry. Very unstable is all

This.

I criticized him after the Ole Miss game for a few long pass plays but he's done quite well since then.

Kiffin is doing a fine job.

I also think he would have beat Ohio State last year if he has stuck with running the football.

The thing is, the knock on Kiff seems to be he's posturing himself to be a great hire. So what, if Bama's NFL offensive line is creating holes for Henry to run 8-10 yards a carry. Screw that, let me show my genius to NFL GM's and college AD's by scheming up some double reverses or super top secret bubble screen jet sweeps.

I dunno.. maybe he just has an over abundance of talent at Bama ?

shite

If he can learn to be a more patient OC, I think he'll take an even bigger leap. I think that's been one of his biggest weaknesses as a playcaller and where it's good he has Saban to explode on him and remind him to run the ball.

McElwain was the best OC we've had under Saban by far IMO.

He was great, but I think Kiffin is better because the OLs the last two years were not nearly as good as the OLs that Mac had to work with. Same for the QBs.

Kiffin gets cute too much. Henry will be chugging along and he'll call a bubble screen or a roll out pass that often ends up getting negative yards and ruining the drive.

Gotta have balance to keep the middle clean. At least in the first half. Kiffin has done a great job with an inferior online relative to our other teams.

- sometimes I don't agree with the play call but you can't pick out play by play - need to look at games as a whole. And we have been in position to win with him.

Exactly, without Kiffin we do not win the SEC last year or win the West this year.

Yea because QB talent is an issue at bama.

Apparently under Jimbo Jacob Coker was pushing a Heisman trophy winner for the job.

I'll never agree with the predictable bubble screens or the roll out pass where there's always a defensive end greeting coker the second he turns around.

Yeah sure he made a miracle TD pass on that play in the Auburn game, but it often never goes well.
