Don't tell the Aggies I said this, but no, not even close. There is ONE objective for any P5 coach and this is to win it all. For that reason alone, he is not overrated. I tell fellow LSU fans the same thing when they bitch about Miles and Orgeron. Winning is fricking hard. You do not luck into it with a generational player or have your team win it in spite of you.
Just off the top of my head I would say Dan Mullen, Dennis Francione, Lane Kiffin (at Tennessee), Bret Bielema, and Will Muschamp are much more fitting of that description.
But when the A&M fans come back in here after they upset Miami, I will deny ever saying it was anyone other than Jimbo.

Jimbo took over an established winning culture built by Bowden over decades & destroyed it. He was lucky that aTm came along and hired him away just as FSU was imploding. He's a top-notch OC who's in-over-his-head as a HC. See Peter Principle.

Jimbo won a natty with a great QB (requirement for most). He is similar to ChiZ who won with Cam Newton. Ogeron, etc.

I personally think Gus is a much better comparison. They both were good offensive minds and relevant 10+ years ago. When they hit gold with a QB they could pop off a great year. Now he refuses to update his offense and he will take elite talent and go 8-4 with it.
Main difference between the two is Gus is now coaching a G5 school in Disney World and Jimbo is making $100M+ at A&M.

Yeah right now is key. If his assistants become HC next year which is highly possible then you better hope like hell he gets good replacements. If not you have another Coach O on your hands. No real offense or defensive Mind running the show.
