Really?
Wow.
That’s a crazy high standard you have.
But to each his own.

Too early for that conclusion.

From a recruiting standpoint I think he has done well. Top 5 class his first year and their class looks good again this year (compared to 4 straight years out of the top 10 before).

Obviously they have had a difficult schedule this year but I don't think they are playing bad football.

I think Fisher is an above average coach. Obviously they paid a lot of money to get him, but for better or worse these days the difference of a couple million to a HC is pocket change for these schools so I don't put a lot of weight in how much a guy is making in determining whether something was a bad hire.

It's a little bit like in the NFL now. The next clear cut starting QB who comes up for a contract seems to get a record breaking deal or close to it. It's just how the market is.

The crazy high standard of don't pay your coach the biggest contract ever and get Joe Moorhead level of performance out of it?

No. The OL is the main problem

I put that in there too, but I've seen Kellen Mond make some horrific throws and decisions that were not because of pressure.

The guy just isn't the answer.

A&M will be way better next year, and the schedule is favorable. OL is improving, TE is definitely improving, and we are playing a ton of underclassmen.

We win ten next year, and I thought the ceiling was seven this year.

College football fans are so weird. You think you can just pay a guy 75M and automatically just have enough talent to beat anyone?

No, it takes time. He recruited very well his first full cycle and that appears to be continuing this year as well. It takes time.

Our PTBs wanted Fisher.
They were able to get him and pay him.
That was their call, not mine.

I will never understand why that bothers anyone.

That is a truly idiotic statement. We win five alone just playing OOC, and SC ...

So you created a thread to flex on A&M when your school hasn't beaten A&M since probably before the civil war? And the central argument you are making is about money? So weird . I know 75M might be a lot for folks in South Carolina. It's spill off for big money A&M guys. The goal was to get best available no matter the cost. Guess we could have gone cheap and hired Morris. They are paying millions for zero wins. Or we could have kept Sumlin. He is 4-4 at Arizona.

Considering it cost Arky to buy out Biliema for for $11.9 million, I'd say Morris didn't come cheap.
