It’s his first year. Let’s revisit this in a few years.

He’s a RS junior. He had Jimbo for three years

Has he? Maybe he's a Miles not a Richt. Recruiting stars all over the field except on the offensive line, where it matters most. Taggart is not as bad of a coach as what FSU has shown so far this year in their losses and near loss to Samford, but you're probably right in saying he's not as good as Jimbo.

He absolutely has based on the metric we grade our recruiting classes on. It's not even debatable at this point.

Tag has taken a tough disciplined team and turned them in SWAG. Their practices look like Sumlin's old practices with music and dancing instead of focus.

Tag is 49–52 overall. He was sub .500 at W Kentucky, S Florida, and then 7-5 at UO. He's finished ranked just once in his 8 year career.

Completing less than 60% of his passes with a ~3:1 touchdown to interception ratio? Just like Francois in 2016, but that is an improvement for Mond over last year. Only difference is A&M is giving up far fewer sacks than FSU has over the last few years.

If you watched Mond now vs Mond in 2017 you know that he's 10x the player he was. Its not even close. And Mond has done it vs Bama & Clemson's defense. Let him play Arkansas, Ole Miss, UAB, & LSU and the #s will sky rocket.

He's coached 4 games, 2 bad teams, and the top 2 teams in the country. How about we wait to see when he has his own players AND is playing someone who is more representative of what will be on the schedule

think Jimbo's stint @ FSU already proved he's not a Richt

I would say the opposite.

Right...Miles had great classes based on those same metrics, too, but look at LSU's struggles on the offensive line, and to an lesser extent the defensive front 7 over that same span.

Well, that's not good.

True...but improved those teams from what they were when he took over and only had the one year at Oregon, granted it wasn't great.

I acknowledged that already.

Has wins against a FCS team and the 110th ranked total defense in ULM.

Losses to, sorry...I meant moral victories against, #4 Clemson (at home) and #26 Alabama. LSU is #38...UAB is #33 (UH OH!), Arkansas is #60, and Ole Miss is #120.

Based on those numbers and previous results, it seems you're counting your chickens a little early. The only team in the same realm as one of your victories (actual), when it comes to total defense, is Ole Miss, with Arky as a distant second.

Because it seems, as it stands now, the LSU and UAB defenses have more in common with the Bama defense than with the others you claim will be highlight shows for Mond.

Where as, LSU has actual vitories against the #2 (Miami), #22 (Auburn), and #37 (LA Tech) teams in total defense, with a FCS victory as well.

Edit to add: you guys play #11 Kentucky after Arky.

Debating about Jimbo...turns into how great LSU is.

Never change.

You brought the team up when talking about Mond performing against top defenses, and implying that he would perform greatly against LSU (because they're not a top defense?). I was merely showing you a comparison of the teams and providing numbers to your opinion based analysis.

The only place I initiated an LSU related comment was saying that Fischer may be more aptly compared to Miles with the way his recruiting during his final years at FSU went.

Edit to add: I knew Mond had a good game against Clemson, but just went look at the numbers. He had a great game against their defense...but did not fare nearly as well against Bama's.

You know good and damn well if the roles were reversed, you’d be arguing how Jimbo is overrated.

Yea man keep pumping that 2-2 record with a complete blowout arse whipping that y’all are comically and desperately overpaying Jimbo to avoid. ThIs iS WhaT MeDioCrE lOokS LikE!!1!!! Mediocre looks like beating your chests over being 2-2 with one loss being to a grossly overrated Clemson team and one loss being a 50 point embarrassment

Yes but that should be said for all new head coaches! Some will benefits and others will not. Try putting Jimbo in Ole Miss!

More likely a Richt clone then Saban . He should have done better at FSU if he was another Saban .

I just seeing this when some diss FSU and Jimbo’s record. You factor in who some of FSU out of competition was against and it more than makes up for it. Jimbo had to play OU 3 different times, 1 in Tally and twice in Norman. Add in ND and some others and FSU schedule on par with Richt at UGA.

Does this fact worry any of the A&M fans around here a bit?

FSU has been quite the disappointment the last two years.

One big problem for Jimbo at FSU is they wouldn’t match SEC money for assistant coaches, and it’s clear that eventually a poor replacement choice for a OL coach and a defensive coordinator sunk that program’s key positions.

When Jimbo came to A&M he had a blank slate. He could be as loyal to his FSU coaches as he wanted. Instead he accepted our almost lifer OL coach who has churned our many NFL talents and then stole Notre Dame’s defensive coordinator. He cut ties with coaches from his staff that didn’t produce.

So it’s not a huge worry, we have bigger ones. Like our defensive backfield or the really all over the place QB recruiting.
