Set an SEC single season record for TDs and yards last night. Oh and here is a list of the CBs he smoked in the process:

CJ Henderson
Trevon Diggs
AJ Terrell
Derion Kendrick

Just to name a few

Objectively, yes. But somehow, Bama and UGA fans will be mad at the suggestion.

Let’s pump the breaks man. He’s still got another year left and there are names like Keshaun Johnson, Randy Moss, Jerry Rice and others on this list. And if you think I’m just talking about pro greats, go look at their college numbers. They are insane.

Ridiculous he didn't win the Heisman that year

Would have loved to see him go up against the best in Jeffery Okudah.

Would have been incredible to watch.

He does it every day in practice against Stingley. He would have burnt Okudah just like he did whomever Clemson had cover him.

I know you don’t listen to LSU podcasts because, frankly, that would be really weird for a non LSU fan, but the LSU guys describing the chase v Stingley drills and battles this spring summer and fall made it sound fricking epic and evenly matched

Great stat line. It's definitely a conversation. Chase finished with 84 catches, 1,780 yards and 20 TD's.

That's with Justin Jefferson on the other side. His stats weren't bad, either:

111 catches, 1,540 and 18 TD's.

With a guy on the opposite side soaking up targets, I'd say that Chase was more productive. I also think that Fitz probably did better considering the Era and that he had no one on the other side.

Lol what? Why would UGA have any issues with Chase?

He can play tailback if he wants to. Looked like Reggie Bush out there

In terms of best seasons by an SEC WR it's essentially between 2019 Chase and 2014 Amari Cooper.

Amari Cooper:
14 games, 124 rec, 1,727 yds, 16 tds (Blake Sims QB)

JaMarr Chase:
15 games, 84 rec, 1,780 yds, 20 tds (Joe Burrow QB)

It's a pretty close comparison. Chase won a national title, but with the best single season QB in NCAA history throwing to him. Cooper lost in the playoffs, but put up those numbers with a converted HB throwing him the ball.

I’m still in the “hes not even the best LSU WR ever.”

Josh Reed had a knack for having his own zip code every play. If he had two extra games like Chase did, I think he would still hold the record for yards.

Reed in 2001 had 94 catches and 1740 yards....in 12 games...
