but Milroe might have a better season in 2025 and has a higher ceiling but lower floor than Dart.
Ole Miss finally has the roster to compete for the playoffs and make a run, so how is Milroe's ceiling higher than Dart's?

Probably not. But he could easily have a better season due to having better players around him. Particularly OL.

I don't really think you do.
Ole Miss brought a lot of transfers in. But only 7 were 4-stars, 1 was a 5-star, the rest were 3-stars according to 247.
That's not super significant. In comparison UGA had 6 4-stars come in through the portal. Bama has 7 4-stars and 1 5-star. Texas has 5 4-stars and 1 5-star.
Ole Miss fans are looking at the total number and thinking Ole Miss now has enough talent to compete with schools who recruit better out of HS. But the reality is most of what they brought in aren't very talented by the standards of UGA/Bama/OSU/Texas/etc.

No one ever says "bigly". It should be removed from the lexicon
You're welcome.

Same. Everyone remembers the wins from last year, but that was due almost entirely to our amazing defense.
I went back and watched some games... Even late in the season he was god awful.
Somewhat fitting that the season ended on him missing a read to throw to the flat, and instead stupidly ran right into the backs of his own linemen 3 yards from the goalline.

I thought I saw where OM had the #1 ranked portal class. Thank you for setting the record straight.

It's not. This is what people say whenever a QB can run fast.
"If he can just learn how to read a defense, anticipate throwing lanes, and throw accurately, and on-time, the sky is the limit."
As if it's a given, and all they need is more reps.

Volume is included in rankings.
Ole Miss brought in 24 transfers. 8 were blue chips. The rest were 3 stars or worse.
Alabama brought in 15 transfers. 8 were blue chips. While they had less volume than Ole Miss, they had the same number of 4-stars and 5-stars. Ole Miss got ranked higher because they had a ton of extra 3-stars. It's not the best way to rank.
UGA on the other hand only had 11 incoming transfers. They didn't have a lot of needs. 6 were blue chips.

The improvements Kiffin has made to the roster that will allow you to compete for a playoff slot have more to do with the defense than the offense. You had the 51st ranked defense last year in adjusted ppd. Had you even been top 20 you would’ve been right in the mix for a playoff spot.
Milroe dramatically outperformed Dart the second half of last year statistically. I think he was 2nd to Daniels nationally in QBR from the Tennessee game on.
He’s faster, has a bigger arm, will be playing in a much better offensive system than the mash up system Bama used last year and is now being developed by DeBoer rather than Rees and BOB. It also helps that he’ll be playing behind four preseason all-SEC OL guys.
He’s also erratic as has been noted by everyone who watched CFB last year. But if you asked scouts who had the bigger upside most are going to tell you Jalen Milroe even if some have Dart as the better QB today.

Dude... exactly.
I find his whole shtick to be rather annoying. If he wins and balls out, all is forgiven, but I think if this were a clean slate with everything even, Ty Simpson would win the job going into the season. Straight up.

No it’s what people say when evaluating someone with a bigger arm and had garbage footwork because BOB didn’t think he was even a QB.
Again, not sure why people are having trouble distinguishing between potential and current onfield proficiency.
Dude was the #2 QB P5 efficiency in the country from the moment Rees opened up the run portion of the playbook last year.

Because he's a running back.

Alabama finished 122 with 49 sacks given up. Ole Miss had half that.
Some were on Jalen, but Proctor was a turn stye at the beginning of the year. The center snapped it high, low, left, and right. The backs missed blocks. Wide receiver was thin. Tight ends were new.

Some? Jalen Milroe held the football longer than any QB in the country last season BY FAR (Which also indicates he was given plenty of time to throw).
He was the primary reason why the sack numbers were so high.
Not to mention the dude runs a 4.3. Why is he getting sacked so much instead of taking off and getting positive yardage? Decision making is a major issue for him

South Florida had the same number of sacks that Texas did at 5.

He also completed the deep ball as good as anyone when the play develops down field.
