Is Jalen Hurts capable of winning it all with this team if Tua goes down?

I think we have better receivers all around, but idk if the running game is good enough for Jalen to do it. Do y’all think Jalen could?

Ole Miss has better WRs.

But yes. You guys are talented enough to win it all with Jalen.

FIFY. I think Bama could carry him to the nattie again but beating Ohio State or Clemson would be tough

I think Bama could win it all with the 3rd string QB this year, so yes.

We would certainly be in the conversation for a title with Jalen (proven the last two years), but I still think a really good team with a dynamic QB (Oklahoma, Ohio State) would beat us in the playoffs with Jalen.

A year ago, I would have said no. Jalen Hurts with Dan Enos whispering in his ear... yeah. I could easily see him winning it all if he had too. It wouldn't even be the hardest road to the championship for Alabama either.

Enos isn't a miracle worker, he had some issues making second half adjustments as OC, but he's a great QB coach. He has this knack for making his QBs effective. Whether its extremely efficient with a high completion percentages or being able to bomb away like Tua has... Enos gets the best out of his guys.

No

I've said it all along...we can't win without the passing threat. This team would be COMPLETELY different without Tua. Everyone claims Jalen has gotten better but I disagree. He has regressed ever since Lane has left and his confidence is at an all time low. His short game accuracy is better but he still can't read a defense and cannot throw the ball deep. His running ability isn't the same either...seemed to be a much bigger threat in 2016. He's bulked up too much.

Yes, but there are obviously some teams that could stop him.

I think without Tua, tOSU would beat Bama, but Jalen has proven he can make enough plays to beat Clemson.

possible, but not probable.

If Tua went down this weekend, it’s possible that Bama could win the national championship with Hurts still. But it’s also a very real possibility that with Hurts, you are a 3 loss team (something that has not been even remotely a possibility for awhile now).

The OLine and defense is not as good as it’s been in the past. It’s still good, just not as good as it’s been.

Possible yes but not very likely.

If you think about it, any team that has won the NC in the last few years would not have won it had a key player gone down.

No Cam Newton? No Auburn title
No Jameis? FSU doesn't win one
No Jake Coker? No title in 2015 for Bama
No Amari Cooper? No title in 2012

and so forth. I'm not sure why a lot is being made of it really.

True but Bama’s defense played out of its mind against Clemson. Bama’s offense put up 17 points and like 300 yards.

Agree wholeheartedly. A lot of teams this year have stepped up while Bama (besides Tua) has stayed very much the same or not improved in key areas.

He didn't make many plays at all vs Clemson...he was pretty bad tbh. The only reason we beat Clemson with Hurts last season is because Clemson had their own JH in Kelly Bryant.

Hurts almost won 2 national championships before, no reason he couldn't do it again.

Of course getting to the title game and losing is a more likely scenario, given Hurts track record of doing that twice (the second time he was bailed out)

Bama OL and running game would have won it even without Cooper.
