You can't be on a radio show in Mobile, AL and constantly blast Alabama. All he did was try to piss off Bama fans. Well, guess what? All his sponsors were Bama fans. Don't bite the hand that feeds you. He was an idiot and deserved to get shipped to Oxford to cover a shitty Ole Miss football team.

The problem with being a writer/media in places like Alabama/Mississippi etc is a certain fanbase will hate you if you show any bias. If you report in a state like Arkansas, everyone will hate you unless you are an Arkansas homer.

I'll bet Chris Landry, the guy quoted in the first article, wanted to crawl in a hole after Saban accepted the Bama offer. He practically guaranteed his family jewels Saban would never come to Bama
Apparently Bama was foolish for going after a name coach and should've settled early for Jim Grobe

you're not missing much man. The afternoon Sports Drive has become awfully bland.
I like it on Mondays when Phil Savage does the Senior Bowl show live from the Bluegill though. I'll listen to Inside the Saints on Tuesday nights but Sports Drive just isn't the same.

I'm just glad he left before ULM did beat Alabama. He's from Monroe (hates it), so he jokingly talked up ULM (who I remember him not liking) before we played them in 06. Saban losing to them would've killed him.
I think that's how it was anyway

I miss the commercials for inside the Saints. So wonderfully cheesy

yeah they are terrible. Frank and Danny are okay though. Its just seems like they take stuff directly off Saints Report to do their show. I think Frank is affiliated with Saints Report though.
back to Neal, I remember when some Auburn fan called in and proclaimed how they were going to upset Florida in 2007. Neal started to troll that dude so hard. I can't remember exactly what he said though. The producer played some sound effects, it was the sound of a water bong or something. They kept telling the dude to put the pipe down.
so yeah, he'd talk crap to Auburn fans too. Funny though, Auburn actually won the game.

Wow...those two articles are some of the biggest examples of colossal fail I've ever seen come from the pen of the same writer.
Good grief, what a jackass he looks like now.

Some of the McCready stuff about Alabama from 2006 sounds like the SI guy on ESPN radio today. He was thinking about doing a piece of "what's dead". His choice? Notre Dame football. He would be getting lots of ridicule right about now. However, he chose not to go forward with the piece.

What's funny is Neil is absolutely obsessed with Saban and talks so well of Alabama football and its teams. He does mock both bases, but he speaks of Alabama football as if it was ordained by Christ

He talked about that on his podcast yesterday. He said that ULM made tshirts with the score on them and he bought some and would wear them around town in Mobile

Is this the guy that's on Bo bounds show every week?

I don't listen to that idiot and it doesn't sound like something Neil would do, but I honestly don't know

I think I would rather listen to Lee Wooldridge's podcasts than that clown.

Yeah he really does. He still thinks Alabama has some batshit crazy fans (and he's not wrong).
I'm sure it bothers him how Saban proved most of his premise wrong (he is quite pretentious), but at least he knows he's wrong

McCready is basically the only OM journalist we have that A. Knows what they are talking about and B. Doesn't pump sun shine. So his is defiantly a favorite amongst OM fans because we can trust what he says.
All this is 100% true... He's the one OM writer that State fans (should) take seriously. May not be the first to break the story, but you can bet on it being correct when McReady writes it. Doesn't get caught up in all the hype and bs..
