At me!!

I just automatically figured ya'll were playing some crappy opponent with that question.

My bad. New opinion FWIW. Considering ASU, I would certainly say you could be impressive with a big win. That's a big 1st game against a good program.

course they can, but cannot base all on one game, see South Carolina last year.

If D is much improved I would be cautiously excited and hopeful.

If A&M's defense is in a lot of 3rd down situations then it won't be very impressive at all.

I predict y'all defense will show an improvement thus giving you fresh ammunition to dis LSU.

being the season opener I don't get too excited over anything but the final score (a la you aggies last year that were openly predicting a NC after beats friggin south Carolina).

Obviously the D needs to take a few steps forward from last year. All 3 levels will be tested against ASU but the Dline and DB's will be what I'm watching to see improvement.
The other main thing I will watch for is can your Oline and RB's pound it when they need to. aTm has had a few games the past 3 years that if you could have kept your defense off the field, you would have won the games. I've heard Sumlin talk a few times this offseason and noticed him make comments about controlling the clock at times, he knows that is what it will take to win the West.
