Is Derrick Henry really getting Heisman mentions?

He looks like a slower Trent Richardson to me. He may be putting up good numbers but I just don't really see it. Doesn't look like he's anything that will be all that special at the next level. I'd take Cook, Elliot, and probably even Jalen Hurd over him right now.

All Alabama players suck. All LSU players are awesome. That should cover a majority of the LSU posts that will be in this thread soon.

I hope not. You can have the Miss America trophy since it means so much to you.

Dak should be getting Heisman mention.
If he keeps this up in his next two games against Missouri and Alabama, he'll be right in the thick of things.

I mean they have to invite more than one person. We all know who is getting the Heisman, so honestly it doesn't even matter. What is a shame is LF can't go pro. He's much more mature and physically ready than most in college football. There should be a waiver system in place for cases like this.

Doesn't have anything to do with the here and now.
Without his current performance Alabama isn't the same team offensively. No he's not flashy but his production is pretty valuable.

Dak has been criminally overlooked
To answer the OP. No not really. Not much buzz to speak of.

Who's mentioning him? I haven't heard anyone with any credibility mention him. He's been mentioned as one of the better backs in the SEC, and if you don't believe that, you'd better check what opposing players and coaches have to say..........you wanna try to tackle him, motherfricker?...didn't think so.

He's 21st in the NCAA in yards per carry among RBs that average at least 15 carries per game.

Without Henry, Bama would still be good.
Without Memphis's Qb, they would suck.
Without Dak, Miss St would suck.
Without TCU's QB, they would suck.
Without LF, LSU would suck.
Henry has no business being included

henry is much better than most think.
what you see is him running thru big holes before he's touched. but how come none of the other backs are running thru big holes?
that's the thing he has in common with fournette. great vision, patience and instinct to find the opening. LF7 picks up a lot of yardage before he gets touched. sure, the blocking is good, but he knows how to run behind it.
if he goes out of the lineup bama has nothing. he's a much better college back than most think.

Yes. He's a pretty good ball player.

Really? He doesn't remind me in any way of Trent.

Henry is as good as most in that group. Cook is as good as LF7.

This is it right here. Not Heisman but Bama's offensive MVP for sure. Pretty good speed, tough to tackle just can't make the cuts LF can--which is not a disgrace.

Your vocab is lacking but predictable.

I agree up to a point. The issue is more of a concern with the mental maturity rather than the physical talent.
Not sure that I'd be thrilled with a 19 year old kid of mine hanging out with coworkers that are on a different level from a maturity standpoint. My son graduated from college in May and immediately landed a job in south Florida where his cohorts are in their 30's and older. He's adjusting, but doesn't have a lot in common with them outside of work.
