He did what Tuna couldn’t do.
Yeah, I can't really debate someone who pretends football is like a free throw competition.
If you don't think Tua could make the throw, then it's just on you. You probably also don't think he could hobble by the majority of your defense on a gimp leg for a TD. But he did.

Yeah, again my point is that he doesn’t necessarily have the best players. He just happens to have the best QB.
Clemson dominated the LOS on both sides of the ball, and this guy thinks Clemson "didn't have the best players -- just the best QB." Roll Tide.

Does Clemson win that game with Kyler Murray at QB?
I don’t think so.
Clemson's defense dominated the best Bama offense of all time. Kyler Murray's defense spotted Bama 21 in the first quarter and Tua completed 25-28 passes against OU's D. Kyler Murray was one of the most phenomenal college players I've ever seen. He threw for 300+ and ran for another 100+ while accounting for 3 TDs against Bama. If he was paired with Clemson's D, it wouldn't have been pretty for Bama.

Breakdown?
Clemson knew the play was coming and jumped it. They even blitzed that guy purposely to disguise and bait it.
Good example of how Clemson's coaching staff came prepared. They knew his tendencies and played them. Meanwhile, Alabama's staff was apparently still jerking off to Oklahoma.
That's what Saban gets for hiring a bunch of recruiters for coaches. It seems he's learned his lesson, because this shite had to be embarrassing for him.

Honestly I think he's an average coach, but had the best DC and QB (twice in a row) in college football. He's also an elite recruiter. He's had elite OC's too. From Chad Morris to the current guy. Take away the DC and QB and he'll struggle to win 8 games next year.

Dabo stole Alabama's recruiting coordinator a few years ago.

He's that good and Clemson or Georgia can match Bama's talent level these days. Plus, Dabo was brave enough to switch QB's after realizing what he had wasn't good enough to win the big prize, and that alone deserves praise.

Yeah and the difference is that Watson was a sophomore in his first Championship game and Trevor was a true frosh. Big difference there buddy. Watson should have been better at that point. But just you wait until the 2019 season, Lawrence will take Tunas lunch money again this year. Go Tigers!

Food for thought, Dabo won 2 championships and played in another with classes ranked in the top ten, but never 1, 2, 3, or even 4. This 2019 class is going to send them over the top. Imagine what will happen with the No.1 class talent coupled with their development. Let me get the popcorn and wait for excuses to start. Go Tigers!

Bama has been winning so long that this kind of generation of stupid has arrived without us even knowing.

Some of my closest friends who are also Bama fans believe that Dabo Swinney is an average coach with elite coordinators. I disagree.
I think Dabo Swinney is the second best coach in college football right now and it isn't even close. He has built a winner at Clemson and he did it all by himself. His first three years as the head man there were unremarkable (19-15 overall in that time), but he's been on fire since 2011. Since the 2011 season, Clemson has had eight straight seasons of 10 wins or more, it has won the ACC five times, and has also won the national championship twice.

I mean, do the Patriots win all those SBs without Brady? Championship team has championship players. You’re, right Bama really doesn’t invest heavily in QBs, but they invest up front.

Eh, no one does it alone. His DC is fantastic.

Clemson was just a top 5 team, that had the benefit of an easy schedule, and prepared the whole month to beat Bama. That's it. If Clemson and Bama played in the regular season, the outcome wouldn't have been the same. Dabo is a good salesman and therefore really good as a college coach. However if he was an NFL coach, do you really think his tactics would make any difference?

Are you really this stupid?

There are so many stupid takes in this thread.
Clemson had the benefit of an easy schedule: Bama had a larger margin of victory during the regular season than Clemson. Bama wasn't challenged in the regular season, just like Clemson wasn't.
Tua struggled against the 2 elite defenses on his schedule. TL destroyed the only elite defense on his schedule.
Lastly, to the people referring to a "fluky" game....
People seem to forget that Clemson ended the game on a 90 yard drive that lasted 10 minutes and they chose not to score. Absolute domination. Bama had no answers.
Bama got out played and out coached. The whole yardage argument is absolutely absurd too. Our defensive coaches knew exactly what they were doing.

Or did he just luck out and get two of the best all-time college QBs back to back?

Well we have the #1 QB recruit coming in 2020. So you all better get used to elite QB play for Clemson.
